About to land....or not....

From last Tuesday...Tuifly D-ATUZ RIU livery is one of my favourite liveries (and one of my least photographed....) 
Managed to arrive at the airport a little before the landing, with no special wind, Tuifly B738 seemed to come in nice and steady....

About to touchdown....

But then, it seemed to catch some ground effect and just didn't touchdonw...


Finnaly, with quite some runway already gone, it started the go-around....(I know...it's a crappy shot, with lots of heat waves but, it's just for the record....)

Flying over Porto Santo

These were on the "bucket" since last November.... They were taken on the day of the activation of AM3 during a couple of passes over Porto Santo, for some aerial shots of military LPPS (AM3) and...of course, the rest of the island. Indeed a fantastic oportunity given by the Air Force to be present at such an event and my baptism on the new C-295, after beeing already "baptized" on the C-130 and the C-212 (next stop...the EH-101..LOL) The island is rather small and this is pretty much everything in one shot.... Approaching the beach (with around 9Km of fantastic golden sand...) The bubbled window provided some great views and quite a diferent framing...looks like you're outside the plane... Samyang 8 mm f/3.5 Aspherical IF MC Fish-eye

Decidi que este ano merecia que me oferecesse a mim próprio uma pequena prenda de anos/Natal (afinal de contas, será o último resto de subsídio de Natal que vou ver a cor....provavelmente para sempre...) Há já algum tempo que me andava a ver várias lentes wide-angle, embora a fish-eye sempre fosse uma coisa daquelas que seria ouro sobre azul mas, cujo custo fazia com que fosse sempre ficando para mais tarde... Há tempos reparei na pequena lente Samyang 8mm Fish-eye... A primeira coisa que me chamou à atenção foi o seu custo extremamente baixo, especialmente em relação a outras Canon, Nikon, etc...naturalmente estava pouco convencido das suas qualidades mas, decidi dar uma vista de olhos... Vários reviews, testes, etc. davam a mesma conclusão: Excelente lente, excelente qualidade de construção, fantástico preço... O contra? É uma lente totalmente manual... Decidi atirar-me e encomendar. Chegou ontem à tarde (envio rápido...) e louquinho para testar, aproveitei logo meia-horita de tempo ...

Air Dolomiti

 Air Dolomiti Embraer 190LR I-ADJP arriving at Venice. Air Dolomiti has one of those really simple but nice liveries (personal opinion...) that fits really well on the Embraer. Curiously, the first time I made some photos on one of its planes, was also in Venice, back in 2005: I-ADLN, an ATR-72 that is now scrapped, after beeing transfered to Asian Wings Airways, in 2011...time really goes by...
