First Enter Air of the Year

Imagem
The first Enter Air I got this year...SP-ENE, a Boeing 734, arriving from Brussels to runway 05. Thanks to Aeroportos da Madeira (Madeira Airports), for the cooperation.

Foto da Semana: Aigle Azur Sharklets

Imagem

Kulula, by Transavia

Imagem
Today, Transavia's flight from Amsterdam was carried through by something a little bit different: PH-HZA that's still "wearing" an hybrid livery of the Kulula Airlines. It fits really nice on the Transavia livery! They should think of updating its livery with some of this green. Unfortunately, while I was at the airport, this would have to be the only plane landing while the sun was behind clouds....crap!! After the landing, went to the airport's balcony... PH-HZA in the apron with its "French brother", Transavia France F-GZHB landing in the back, from Lyon / Porto Unfortunately, looks like there are plans for closing this amazing balcony, with the remodeling of the terminal that it's schedulled to start in 2015..... It's one of Madeira's Ex-Libris...hope they reconsider this... Pushing-back to runway 05

Germania A321

Imagem
Last week was (as far as I know) the first time Germania brought an A321 to Madeira but, I couldn't manage to get it... This week it didn't escape me :) D-ASTE landing on runway 05, arriving from Bremen.

MadJet inter-ilhas...

Imagem

Scimitar

Imagem
No...won't be talking about old weapons... Actually this is about something new, the new Winglets that are beeing mounted in Boeing planes: Scimitar Winglets. Today Madeira had the visit of one bird using these: Thomson Airways B738 G-FDZF, arriving from East Midlands. Didn't make any amazing pics but at least is another new stuff for the collection. landing on runway 05 with dull weather The top winglets is also a bit diferent from the old ones.... Tui group will install them on their fleet but, as far as I know this is the only Thomson airplane with these Winglets and Thomson it the only European Airline with these... (Corrections from anyone?)

Nocturnas e primeiras fotos

Imagem

Photo of the Week: Globemaster at Madeira...

Imagem
Last Wednesday we got what was most probably the year's highlight: a Boeing C17A Globemaster III from USAF's Mobility Command. USAF planes aren't that usual around here and one of these big birds, even less.... (not sure if it was the first or second time but was probably the first time) Definitly pic of the week: landing on 05 It came from Ramstein Air Base   to make the medevac of 1 US military that was at Madeira (yeah...probably not the John Doe soldier...) The news on its arrival came in with a very short notice and most of guys dropped off everything and went running to the airport... Good thing that they weren't used to be around and looked to be a little bit "lost"....it gaves us time to get to the airport. The famous approach to 05 was made with a way loooooong downwind making it a strange and looong final over land and sea... (definitly GELO didn't mean anything to them....) On final to runway 05 On the apron, with the a

Ainda o Lambecas...

Imagem

Irmandade do Spotting

Imagem

A couple of Shots at Planespotters.net Top

Imagem
Noticed today that these couple of shots of mine are currently at #2 and #5 of Top Photos of last 24H, at Planespotters.net Check more pics of this day HERE OO-JLO, on final to runway 05  F-GZHI from Transavia France taking off from runway 05

Tuifly arriving from Basel

Imagem
Keeping on with the German traffic...D-ATUF, with the Hapag-Lloyd Kreuzfahrten livery which looks a lot like the old Hapag-Lloyd livery and fits really nice on this B738. It's been a long time since I last got one of these... Arriving from Basel

Week Photo: Air Berlin's A330 on the double

Imagem
A couple of weeks ago we had Air Berlin's A330 on the double. If getting an Air Berlin A330 has been very unusual lately, getting 2 is almost a miracle... They came to take back the passengers that they had brough 2 weeks earlier. D-ABXA landing on 05 with the One World titles Touchdown with the apron in the back with a few smaller birds...how many small birds can you get into an A330? :) A330 on the double, with D-ALPA pushing back for the departure from runway 05 Roate from D-ALPA with the top beacon on (this time, the cherry was on top...lol) rotate for the departure of D-ABXA and take off....really nice to see one of these birds passing on take-off power right in front of you!

Transavia take-off

O outro Dornier

Imagem

Jetairfly with the cherry on the bottom

Imagem
Last monday went to the airport with the aim of getting AeroVip's replacement for CS-TGG. At about the same time was arriving Jetairfly's B738 OO-JLO with a great morning light. It was the first time I managed to get Jetairfly (TUI...) new colors.... Winds on final were a bit tricky as noticeable in the aircraft's atitude (on that position, the usual is beeing leaned to the oposite side...) And...the cherry on the bottom of the plane... it's quite hard to master the art of getting the beacon on... :P I'd be more happy if that kind of luck was more directed to stuff like the Euromillions but...oh well... getting the beacon is also nice :P  For the take off I was already in another spot... Take-off to Porto Santo as this was also the first Jetairfly of the season to Porto Santo, before proceding back to Brussels Just a final curiosity...the plane was named " Grace ": a woman's name for a plane with a female F/O

Despedida ao Lambecas...

Imagem
