The end of B717 in Europe...

Imagem
Looks like we'll stop seeing the Boeing 717 flying on Europe... Check the news, HERE Volotea flew with B717 to Madeira, on the first seasons of its operations to Madeira.  On the last flights, the A319 was the more usual type... (EI-EXJ, the first Volotea B717 at Madeira...check HERE )

Back to April, to the day of the first shots of the B738MAX (check HERE ), a click on the departure of Volotea's A319 EC-MTN, from runway 23

Finally some decent shots on a Volotea A319 :) The B717 would be a more interesting catch but looks like now we only get the A319...which was fine by me as I still hadn't got any god shot of this bird... EI-FML arriving from Nantes "Airbus One" over runway 05

Willi...with love from Condor... :)

After a long time, Condor brought it's special livery B753 "Willi"... When it arrived, complained about the crappy weather but actually, it turned out to be the best weather all day long...as meteo kept getting worst until almost no planes could land in the afternoon due to visibility and rain... After lunch and until now, only the small BAe Jetstream that flies the Porto Santo - Madeira route and an Air Force helicopter EH-101 with a MEDEVAC, have landed.... entering the apron, after landing on runway 23  The take off was already made under rain shower... Let's hope I can see it around here under more suitable weather... :)

Photo of the Week: Under the Rainbow

Last Thursday went to the airport to get some of the afternoon traffic, specially Condor's A321 with Sharklets and new livery (which I still had no pics) and the landing of Volotea (the landing of this one was also a first for me...) The weather was a bit dark and with some light rain shower wich was a bit crappy but then, this beautifull rainbow opened just over the airport...it was really beautifull and it lasted quite a long time, somethimes stronger, somethings fainter... Air Berlin's B738 D-ABME with the One World livery take-off, with an amazing rainbow The landing of Volotea's B717 EI-FBJ, "crossing" the rainbow The landing of TAP's A320 CS-TMW with the rainbow a little bit weaker Also a first...the first time I photographed White's CS-TRO landing (until then only had made a couple of night-shots of it, parked for the night) An overview of FNC/LPMA (Madeira International airport) with all of the above planes and a plus: Tui...

Volotea: A premiere on the double

Imagem
Today Volotea made its first flight to Madeira (charter from Nantes). It was a double premiere as besides beeing the first time we have Volotea here, it's also the first time we have a Boeing 717. Wasn't expecting to get to the airport in time for its arrival but still managed to do it just as it was taxiing to the stand. EI-EXJ, looks rather nice with that "picnic towel" livery in the back (at least it's diferent...) Also very nice to have a change from the usual Airbus/Boeing models that we have around The plane was received with a salute from the water canons of the firefighters trucks. Too back the plane was parked far away, in backlit, still an interesting effect with the shining water "cutting" the dark plane.... Holding off runway 05 for the departure flight, back to Nantes (positioned) Holding with OO-TCS from Thomas Cook Belgium arriving from Brussels Take-off!
