Europe Airpost ASL

From last year, a couple of pics I still hadn't processed....
Europe Airpost already with small ASL titles on the nose...
I'm pretty sure it was the only time I got a French Post last year....

F-GZTG arriving at the stand
Currently maintains the Europe Airpost livery but with ASL France titles and another registration (F-GZTN)

Bye-bye to the French Post

Read today, at Skyliner-Aviation, that French Europe Airpost's B733 F-GIXH " ferried 01feb13 ORY-DGX for part-out & scrap"...

Managed to get it at least once, back in 2007:

Five more...

Haven't been processing any new pics lately, just been browsing some older pics and uploading them to Jetphotos.
Anyway, it's allways pics I find worthy uploading that I find to be nice ones or with a special meaning.

The first one, is one of the few shots I've taken of New Axis Airways. This pic is even more meaningfull as this airline shut its doors a year ago....

F-GLXQ on short final to runway 05
Norwegian Air Shuttle was one of those airlines I allways wanted to see around as it holds a really nice livery,  anyway, never managed to get one of those pics I would consider to be a great one....
LN-NOB from NAX, linning up on runway 05
Europe Airpost stopped coming to Madeira with the start of Winter season.
This day was the only one I managed to get some night shots on this airline.
The pics I took on this day were rejected on the first time I sent them and now, got this one accepted.
F-GIXT just ended push-back to runway 05
I'm a bit tired of First Choice livery but really love these kind of action shots!
G-OOAR landing on runway 05
....and the last one, to remember Binter. It's another of the airlines that decided not to come to Madeira during   Winter season (at least, until now).
It's been a long time since I last caught an ATR, from Brinter so, decided to share upload to Jetphotos this previously unreleased shot.

Testing, 1, 2, 3...

Got myself some new gear. Birthday is coming closer and decided to gift myself.
(and also my "old" 300D has been announcing its eminent death for a long time...).

I'm now the proud owner of a Canon 1000D.
Well, it's just an entry level camera (and so the 300D was) but I guess it's good enough for my skills. If I don't take good pics with it, then using a better camera wouldn't help at all...
Anyway, still testing some definitions as it brings a lot more features than the 300D...

A rather quick stop at the airport, on a Saturday late afternoon was the first plane spotting photography with it...
The second day of Aigle Azur to Madeira on A319. Coming on final with some backlit but a lot of great reflections...

The other French of the afternoon, taxiing to 05 to departure...

An old LTU plane, now with Air Berlin livery but still with a sticker with "Operated by LTU"

And finally, the home land airline...

Conclusions? Well, will let you decide on the pics but I'm rather pleased with the way the camera deals with whites and the sun. Used center-weight metering (unavailable on 300D) and it looks like it's the best option for plane shooting.
On the other hand, looks like works a real bad with the lens weak point, regarding low f numbers...
Will just keep trying definitions and trying to learn and improve...

New Photo of the Week - French traffic and more

Last Saturday went for the first regular flight by Aigle Azur.
Besides that one, there were a few more traffic that could be interesting, including the one from this week's choice: Europe Airpost (French Post callsign).
It's been quite a long time since I last got one of these planes. Usually they were coming in the morning and in the late afternoon...not good for me...
The sun was shinning...unfortunatelly somewhere else....

The Aigle Azur, wich was making its first regular flight in Airbus and the first in Airbus A319 (the very first flight was actually a promotional flight, made a few days before in A320. Pics HERE)
Unfortunatelly it was delayed about an hour and with that weather, it didn't improved the light, for sure...

Anyway, when I first got to the airport, noticed this unusual Binter...unexpected...
Another spotter told me it had a technical problem while pushing-back, in the morning.

This Air Berlin was also a nice catch, as lately it seems like I'm allways getting the old and crappy livery...

Meanwhile, low light was nice for trying some pannings...with a large amount of luck to get this one with the strobe on...

On late Saturday afternoons Easyjet rules for sure. Besides these 3, another one was taxiing after landing on runway 05. So, we have: the one from London Stanstead, London Gatwick, Lisbon and Bristol (and another in the morning, from Lisbon)

Departure of the Aigle Azur to Paris, with very low light...
