Photo of the Week: Nigeria Air Force

Yesterday we got a surprise visitor at Madeira, a Nigerian Air Force B737BBJ (5N-FGT), on a technical stop, between Nigeria (Katsina Airport) and Andrews AFB (USA).

Didn't manage to get arrival but went for the departure...
Runway 23 in use but the light wasn't the best with the sun right ahead the runway so, tried a different spot, hoping for an early take off, with a turn which would allow a bit more sun on the side of the fuselage....
No such luck...it was a straight ahead take-off, still, I guess the light conditons were better than the usual Ferro Spot.

Air Dolomiti

 Air Dolomiti Embraer 190LR I-ADJP arriving at Venice. Air Dolomiti has one of those really simple but nice liveries (personal opinion...) that fits really well on the Embraer. Curiously, the first time I made some photos on one of its planes, was also in Venice, back in 2005: I-ADLN, an ATR-72 that is now scrapped, after beeing transfered to Asian Wings Airways, in 2011...time really goes by...

Flying over Porto Santo

These were on the "bucket" since last November.... They were taken on the day of the activation of AM3 during a couple of passes over Porto Santo, for some aerial shots of military LPPS (AM3) and...of course, the rest of the island. Indeed a fantastic oportunity given by the Air Force to be present at such an event and my baptism on the new C-295, after beeing already "baptized" on the C-130 and the C-212 (next stop...the EH-101..LOL) The island is rather small and this is pretty much everything in one shot.... Approaching the beach (with around 9Km of fantastic golden sand...) The bubbled window provided some great views and quite a diferent framing...looks like you're outside the plane...
