 This month we had United back to Madeira, from EWR, with its B737 MAX8 birds... Currently not really fond on US Americans but, a diferent traffic is a diferent traffic... (by the way, if you are one of those stupid red necks offended by my last sentence and feel compeled to protest...don't. Comments are moderated and will be deleted without even reading, because I don't give a fuck on your opinion...You allways have the option to go to the Madeira of the Pacific....)

It's been quite a while since I last got a Luxair... B737 MAX8 LX-LBK arriving from Luxembourg, on short final to runway 05

A brand new Ryanair Boeing 737-8MAX200 that is now based at Madeira, arriving from Lisbon...EI-ILD:

 Uns registos de ontem, ao final da tarde, com os últimos raios de sol, relativos à chegada do YL-BGS, o 737-300 da Klasjet, que transportou o Sporting desde Beja, até à Madeira, para o jogo da I Liga Portuguesa de Futebol, com o C.D.Nacional, hoje. Com os spotters na expectativa sobre um eventual atraso, que faria com que o aparelho chegasse já depois do sol desaparecer atrás das montanhas de Gaula, desta vez tivemos sorte e acabou chegando com os últimos raios de sol... Chegada ao stand, com o também recém-chegado Ryanair EI-ILD, um Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 Curiosamente, 2 B737 que representam anos de distancia em termos de tecnologia mas também em termos de conceito de transporte aéreo... Curiosamente, no momento em que publico isto (intervalo do jogo CD Nacional - Sporting), o Nacional ganha por 1-0....a ver como envelhece este resultado, na segunda parte :)

  With 3 weekly flights, since June 8th, yesterday was only the second time I made some shots on the United flight and the first with sun... Couldn't manage to get the arrival so, waited for the departure, also from runway 23. It was a bit of a late take-off for this B737 MAX8 ( N17326 ), on its way to Newark.

United Airlines made its first flight to Madeira today. B737 MAX8 N17272 crossed the Atlantic during the night, after taking off from New York EWR - Newark  around 21:50 (local time) and arriving at Madeira the next morning, around 09:11 (local time). Despite the nice weather at Funchal, at the airport, in Santa Cruz, was dark and there was a barrier of Easyjet planes blocking the landing view...spotter's life... Still managed some bit of sun in the aircraft during the taxi... Anyway...still no welcoming bath around here... The flights will be carried on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays until September.

 In a 10 minute spotting sesson got 2 birds that had been missing from my colection... Enter Air SP-EXH, with the Spicejet colors and Lufthansa's A321NEO D-AIEH, witht the Fanhansa titles... Pretty nice, specially because it was quite a dark day but still, the little bit of sun was on the right place,,, Enter Air, arriving from Warsaw Lufthansa, from Munich

This week got, for the first time at Madeira, Icelandair's new livery, with B737 MAX8 TF-ICU, after not managing to get it the week before (which, was, I believe, the first time it was here). A bit of a dark and rainy day (around the aiport), but managed to catch some sun on the departure, altough, it took off a little bit earlier than I expected... Departing to Reykjavik, from runway 05...can you notice the Easyjet on the downwind? The arrival, darker, to runway 23, from Beja Airport, Portugal (BYJ/LPPB) where it disembarked 135 passengers...

Yesterday we got, at Madeira, for the first time, the Tuifly 50th Aniversary livery and it looks really great and brings out some nostalgic feelings, regarding the Yellow Cab and Hapag-Lloyd bits of it... B737-MAX8 D-AMAH arriving at runway 05, from Dusseldorf... Taxiing to the stand, by Wizzair A321NEO 9H-WDZ, which was getting ready for the return flight to Katowice. Didn't wait for the departure, which was to Hannover. Enter Air SP-EXE B737 MAX8 arriving from Katowice with Bonza Airlines hybrid livery, although less hybrid than some time ago...titles already gone and LOT winglets also got a white circle... Built for LOT (note the winglets) but not accepted, it went as a VH-UBI to Bonza Airlines where it was in storage for a few months before finally joining the Enter Air fleet. With fellow airline SP-ESK, that arrived from Warsaw and Eurowings D-ABDU
