Planes and stuff

Back to December, to the same day of the D-ABDU (Air Berlin / Etihad)  take-off from runway 23 (check HERE ), the take off of another Air Berlin A320  (Swiss registration) on a great late afternoon light HB-IOZ departing to Zurich On the apron, the usual Saturday afternoon traffic....TAP, Transavia, Easyjet and British Airways

After almost two years without coming to Madeira for the first time (presented in January 2014), now the Air Berlin Etihad "Moving Forward" livery has been a regular presence at Madeira (please, don't forget to send us the #cominghomeforchristmas livery, Air Berlin ...) Yesterday  it came and the saturday before it also came...these are some pics taken last week, with take-off from runway 23 and landing in runway 05... Taking off, back to Berlin - Tegel from runway 23 with a nice light. In the apron, its Swiss "brother" HB-IOZ and Aigle Azur's A320 F-HBIX, with new livery and sharklets an hour earlier, the landing, on runway 05 Another shot of the take off...

Like I mentioned on the Condor from Hamburg entry  the winds on that day (Jun.16th) were quite bad. The Condor had managed to make a safe landing at first atempt but the same didn't happened with Air Berlin ( Belair ) A320 from Zurich. Was distracted inside my car when I heard a plane coming in for a land with loud engine noise, struggling its power againts the wind... Grabbed the camera and got outside just in time for a some shots of HB-IOZ, from Air Berlin , pulling up, for a go-around... it made a go-around straight into circuit for another try on runway 05... The second atempt was busy.... but sucessfull...
