Planes and stuff

Reparei hoje que a Travel Service tem um dos seus aparelhos com pintura híbrida Travel Service / Oman Air (acabado de regressar, após aluguer de Inverno àquela companhia). A única vez que tive oportunidade de fotografar um híbrido Oman Air foi já em 2009, o  G-CEJP da Flyglobespan , companhia que entretanto faliu no final desse ano (Dezembro 2009)... Já que estava no campo das recordações, por hoje ficam dois registos da Sterling que ainda não tinha partilhado por cá... Desde miúdo que a Sterling me ficou marcada por trazer à Madeira o que na altura (e ainda hoje...) pensava ser um dos mais belos aviões comerciais, o Caravelle, que ficava lindo na pintura Sterling de então.... Fundada em 1962, acabaria por passar por várias falências, reaberturas, fusões e renomeações...e falências....sim, já falei em falências mas...foram várias... Podem ver historial AQUI Ficam pois, 2 registos de Setembro de 2009, do OY-MRF, ainda com cores e títulos Sterling mas, já ao serviço da Cimber Sterling (que abriria falência em Maio de 2012....) B737 OY-MRF aterrando na 05 (agora ao serviço da Southwest, com o registo N7816B) Taxiando para a 05, com destaque para o G-MSJF da Flyglobespan (que já faliu igualmente) e para o A319 da SAS com cores retro OY-KBO... nos últimos anos, a SAS voltou a voar com 737 para a Madeira...

You realise your pics aren't that well organized when you take a really long time to find some pic... Usually I hate white planes (fridges...) but some time ago, I remembered of a white Thomas Cook that I had photographed some years ago which looked quite nice, the problem was finding those pics... Well finally got it. I still think this is a rather nice "fridge" and was the only time I caught one of these... G-TCAC, a white Thomas Cook... Browsing the other pics of the day, found some stuff worth remembering.... G-OOBJ, that is already on Thomson livery...    With the last one you realise that stuff really changes... On the front G-SAAW, from FlyGlobespan, that went bankrupt. On the push-back, G-BYAD, back then on Thomson, and now N901NV on service with Allegiant Air and finally old Sata's ATP CS-TGX, now replaced with the Q200 (and Q400)...

A few more shots of last monday... It will be interesting to see the other side photos, taken by the inside spotter...lol This afternoon, the SAS is again the retro (OY-KBO) and Transavia is speciall livery (PH-HZL) (FINALLY!!! some special livery by Transavia around here...let's see if I can go there...)

Like I said on the previous post, last Monday was had a great afternoon of spotting. Good traffic in little time and a great afternoon light. Still wasn't this time we had a special livery from Transavia... The Cimber Sterling (from Copenhagen) had about 4 hours delay, which was great for me (not so good for the passengers...) as allowed me to photograph it and arrived with great afternoon light, instead of the awfull mid-day strong light (actually I thing that at the schedulled time it was dark, cloudy and with litle shower rain...) Anyway, a diferent registration from last week but still with Sterling livery. Maybe next week we get a Cimber Sterling livery... About to leave. Holding short of runway 05. Waiting for the departure of Transavia. Was almost forgeting this one, allways a well worth catch as the 735 is a very rare bird around here (also didn't expect to see Palmair livery around here anymore, after European bankrupt) FlyGlobespan is one of those that's allways n...

So, here's the rest of the traffic for the Monday, 11th May . As I said a very nice day for spotting with some really interesting traffic. On the afternoon, besides the more interesting traffic, the sunlight was also better (on its location and quality). In little more than half an hour there was a lot of traffic. Good, that's the way I like it, specially if I was supose to be "somewhere else" :)) Anyway, we had the SAS with retro livery, which is always a nice catch. Until now had only caught it once and the photos were real crappy... This Flyglobespan returned back to its operator just a few days, after a lease to Oman Air and it's still wearing hybrid colors (very nice ones, be the way...) Transavia, as usual, with the regular livery...no PH-XRA... It made a bit of a longer and... ...quite a smoky landing... And at this time, it even looks like its orange time with lots (for our kind of traffic) of Easyjets... Luxair new colors is allways a nice catch. Much bet...

On this morning, the highlights were the two Axis flights and the Viking. Still this wasn't yet the day that we had Axis new livery around here. Instead I got surprised with a NEOS making the second Axis flight. Also, another point of interest was the Viking that have been bringing diferent registrations on every week since it restarted flying to Madeira. This Thomson had the "fly.com" from the titles gone (begining of the change to Thomson Airways?) Weather didn't help, as it was too unstable with areas with sun and others with no sun...I don't know about really skilled photographers but, for me its gets real hard for getting good results with that kind of changes...specially because when photographing a plane coming real fast on final you don't get much time for changing settings... I guess the second shot of this Thomson was the best of the day for me. It turned out really sharp and clear with the sun on the right place and the heat from the jetblast gi...
