Planes and stuff

 Back from 2008 (21st January), a shot previously unprocessed/unpublished... First Choice Airways A321 G-OOAV departing from Madeira's runway 23, back to the UK This airline was merged into Thomson Airways, later TUI UK and the plane is now on service with Ural Airlines, as VQ-BCX

Back to 2005, a pic I still hadn't processed... First Choice B752 G- OOBE taxiing to runay 05 with another gone in the back, a My Travel plane (became Thomas Cook Scandinavia)... A plane from 2003, despite working for the same guys all these years, knew quite a few names and liveries... Started on Air 2000 in 2003 which was renamed to First Choice Airways later that year. With the merging with Thomson, it became Thomson Airways, beeing renamed, last year, to TUI Airways.... :)

Back to 2008 (August, 18th) a pic that I still hadn't published in the blog: Which's the only airline in the pic that's still operating? ;) First Choice A320 G-OOPX (now operating for SmartWings as OK-HCB) departing from 05 with a Lauda Air holding short off runway 05. In the back XL (UK) and TAP are in the apron....and I guess no doubts on which is the airline still operating... :)

For today, just a memory on First Choice Airways. They used to come a lot to Madeira... Started operations in 1987 as Air 2000 (I think I only got them once or twice with that name...) . Was rebranded to First Choice Airways in 2004. In 2008 was merged with Thomsonfly, creating Thomson Ayways and wearing now the same Tui blue livery that so many other airlines of the Tui group use.....

Some time ago was browsing some pics and found this one that just got accepted by Jetphotos ... Not great quality but it's definitely not everyday you get a 757 with chickenpox.... ;) G-OOBI taxiing to runway 05

You realise your pics aren't that well organized when you take a really long time to find some pic... Usually I hate white planes (fridges...) but some time ago, I remembered of a white Thomas Cook that I had photographed some years ago which looked quite nice, the problem was finding those pics... Well finally got it. I still think this is a rather nice "fridge" and was the only time I caught one of these... G-TCAC, a white Thomas Cook... Browsing the other pics of the day, found some stuff worth remembering.... G-OOBJ, that is already on Thomson livery...    With the last one you realise that stuff really changes... On the front G-SAAW, from FlyGlobespan, that went bankrupt. On the push-back, G-BYAD, back then on Thomson, and now N901NV on service with Allegiant Air and finally old Sata's ATP CS-TGX, now replaced with the Q200 (and Q400)...

Haven't been processing any new pics lately, just been browsing some older pics and uploading them to Jetphotos . Anyway, it's allways pics I find worthy uploading that I find to be nice ones or with a special meaning. The first one, is one of the few shots I've taken of New Axis Airways . This pic is even more meaningfull as this airline shut its doors a year ago.... F-GLXQ on short final to runway 05 Norwegian Air Shuttle was one of those airlines I allways wanted to see around as it holds a really nice livery,  anyway, never managed to get one of those pics I would consider to be a great one.... LN-NOB from NAX, linning up on runway 05 Europe Airpost stopped coming to Madeira with the start of Winter season. This day was the only one I managed to get some night shots on this airline. The pics I took on this day were rejected on the first time I sent them and now, got this one accepted. F-GIXT just ended push-back to runway 05 I'm a bit tired of Fi...

Just got an email from Jetphotos, with the aceptance of 5 pics (and one rejection). All the photos are older pics that were in the "closet" and while browsing my photos, remember to upload them to Jetphotos. HB-KOR, a Socata TBM-850. Not usual around here. D-AHIK, special livery for Hamburg 10th Aniversary...double value for this pic, now that unfortunatelly Hamburg closed its doors... G-OOAR , from Thomson Airways. I wonder if they'll ever paint the A320's in full Thomson livery? Probably my fav. from the all batch. Allways had a preference for action shots. PH-HSS had the curiosity of  maintaining the winglets of its previous operator: Gol, from Brazil. you can check it HERE Not an usual angle at LPMA with a couple of planes in a row, taxiing.
