Planes and stuff

  Was cheking some info on Sunclass planes and remembered to go back in time on my archives, to check some of Sunclass "grandpa" MyTravel shots I had taken... An interesting one, back from February 2007...MyTravel A320 OY-VKS arriving at the stand with a couple First Choice Airways (gone into Thomson Airways and now TUI Airways), another MyTravel, an Austrian (also gone...) and TAP's A320 CS-TNG (stored since December 2020...) Also, the handling company that is working on the FCA (TRIAM) is also gone... Things do change a lot in time and now more than ever on these last years, things are due to change...let's hope for the best for all the people and companies related with aviation and traveling...

A foto da semana é uma das minhas preferidas dos últimos tempos... Uma paragem rápida ao final da tarde, com tempo escuro e os "aviões sem grande pressa para saírem"...ia já embora quando o TAP e o Monarch (ver AQUI ) pediram push-back... Já que ali estava, apesar do tempo escuro, decidi ficar...e valeu bem a pena, pois os últimos raios de sol acabaram por dar um arzinho da sua graça em algumas poucas zonas da descolagem... A320 CS-TNG, descolando da 23.... Em baixo, o Easyjet preparava-se igualmente para descolar, o que aconteceu já sem sol....

As opções para a foto da semana era muitas mas, um comentário que me foi feito ontem, decidiu-me relativamente à escolha desta, apesar de já ter sido foto da semana há já algum tempo.... Por vezes quando menos esperamos, obtemos uma foto de sucesso, como foi o caso desta. obtida quando já regressava ao Funchal e decidi parar a alguma distância do aeroporto para uma últma "overview"...acabei por registar os momentos anteriores a um "borrego" do CS-TNG Já foi publicada um par de vezes, tendo inclusive sido capa de uma capa de revista, merecendo por isso esta semana, lugar de destaque...e até lhe acrescentei um rebordo branco para melhor condizer.... :P Boas fotos a todos e acima de tudo, aproveitem o hobby

Esta já estava na calha para publicar há uns tempos (as fotos foram tiradas há 1 mês...) mas, tem surgido outras coisas mais interessantes (embora não necessariamente tão interessantes, do ponto de vista fotográfico...) A foto da semana, F-HBIX da Aigle Azur , com reverses e spoillers abertos, após a aterragem na 05. É um tipo de foto que gosto particularmente, quando o sol está na posição certa para iluminar os mecanismos dos spoillers, no interior da asa...as sharklets dão o toque final! Qualquer dia, estou tão farto de sharklets que já nem ligo mas, por enquanto continuam a ser um toque extra :)  O resto das fotos dessa chegada..... aterragem na 05 chegada ao stand, com o A320 da TAP CS-TNG , ao lado. (Curiosamente o CS-TNG foi o avião retratado na minha última foto publicada numa revista...ver AQUI )

Last Wednesday we got what was most probably the year's highlight: a Boeing C17A Globemaster III from USAF's Mobility Command. USAF planes aren't that usual around here and one of these big birds, even less.... (not sure if it was the first or second time but was probably the first time) Definitly pic of the week: landing on 05 It came from Ramstein Air Base   to make the medevac of 1 US military that was at Madeira (yeah...probably not the John Doe soldier...) The news on its arrival came in with a very short notice and most of guys dropped off everything and went running to the airport... Good thing that they weren't used to be around and looked to be a little bit "lost"....it gaves us time to get to the airport. The famous approach to 05 was made with a way loooooong downwind making it a strange and looong final over land and sea... (definitly GELO didn't mean anything to them....) This morning went to the airport to get the arrival of Aerovip's Dornier 228 from Porto Santo, Condor's B753 and a Gulfstream G-IV private bizjet After the arrival of the Gulfstream, returned to Funchal but then decided to make a quick stop near "GELO" for some quick overview shots of landing TAP A320 CS-TNG .... The first approach of CS-TNG wasn't going exactly the right way.... A few moments after this shot, the crew decided to go-around for a second atempt... They landed on the second atempt.
