Planes and stuff

Numa altura em que o futuro do Aeroporto de Lisboa está uma vez mais em acesa discussão, agora com o cata-vento pendente para a opção Portela + Montijo, fica um registo bem a propósito desta hipótese, com o Aeroporto da Portela, em primeiro plano e, do outro lado do rio, a Base Aérea do Montijo (BA6), onde querem implementar o segundo aeroporto civil de Lisboa....

E porque hoje é dia da criança...quem sabe muitos sonhos de aviação não começam assim?....

Segundo infos da comunidade spotter, o CS-TKO, A320 da Sata Internacional foi retirado a semana passada de serviço nesta companhia, regressando assim ao seu dono (lessor, que segundo o Airfleets é a ILFC), devendo ser alvo de uma revisão antes do regresso efectivo às mãos da empresa que o alugou.

Por curiosidade, relembro que este foi o aparelho que sofreu um tailstrike nos Açores, poucos meses após a entrada ao serviço, novo, na Sata.

Há um ditado que diz que o jardim do vizinho é sempre mais florido...e no caso do spotting, isso é bem verdade já que por mais fartos que os spotters locais estejam de um determinado avião ou companhia, para outros, esses mesmos movimentos podem ser motivo de destaque...

Há já muito que não faço uma viagem de spotting, limitando-me a registar, na medida do possível alguns movimentos enquanto em trânsito, como foram o caso destes, em Lisboa (LIS/LPPT)...
Nestes casos específicos nem se tratam de novidades absolutas já que qualquer uma destas companhias / aparelhos andaram pela Madeira mas, há já muito que por cá não põem rodas e é sempre agradável revê-los...

A semana passada ficou marcada pelo final dos voos Sata a partir da sua base no Funchal, com a respectiva retirada do aparelho Airbus A320 que até então estava baseado cá na Madeira.

Madeira/Paris-Orly/Madeira foi o último voo efectuado com um aparelho Sata baseado na Madeira.

Still on vacations but was checking my e-mail and noticed a message from Jetphotos, informing me that this photo had been on the Top 4 shots of last 24 Hours... Not many oportunities to make these kind of shots and even with a small Ixus 80 and right (amazing) golden light, the results can be very nice....

Last Saturday went to Santa Cruz.
The Sata's newest A320 was in night-stop.
An event quite rare, here at Madeira (although this week happened a few times).
So, before leaving to Funchal headed to the terminal's balcony for a few night shots....
The wind was blowing quite hard but got a couple of records for the colection...
Don't know if it's the painting but the nose seems diferent...longer...not an A320 nose...(just my impression, of course...)

Well...looks like these are the last shots I'll take to "Diáspora" for a while....

Anyway, these were taken by pure luck as I was near runway 36 threshold and the Madeira's Aeroclub Piper was doing some touch&go's I decided to go there for a couple of shots of the Piper.

When I got there, heard the ATC sending the Piper into hold as there was an A320 coming for land. Had no idea what it was...
A few moments later Sata joined the Tower frequency for landing...hum, a Sata? It should be nice to get the CS-TKO....
...and... yes! It was Sata's new A320:

The day of the return of SBA (06.Jun.2009) to Madeira was also the first day of daylight operations of CS-TKO, the new A320 from Sata, with the new livery.
The day before was the first day of operations for this plane and it came to Madeira in the begining of the evening but I didn't go to the airport.

Considering the amount of times it came to Madeira, on the first 3 days of operation, there will be plenty of ocasions for other shots.

Beeing the first time I put eyes on it, live, I really enjoyed the new livery. Not so much the tail...but generally speaking, it's a very nice livery.






At this time of the day, there were 3 A320 from Sata at the airport...

Any future pilot around?
Airports and planes have lost some of the mystical of the past as air trips are more and more comon but it still can put the imagination to work....
