Planes and stuff

  Traffic of the year, until now...not doubt... Royal Canadian Air Force C-17A 177705 at Madeira, today. Arrived from Gibraltar and, after less than 2 hours, departed to Trenton. It's the 3rd C-17 at Madeira and the first Canadian one (the others...one from USAF, HERE , and another from RAF) Unfortunatelly, couldn't manage to get the arrival and made just a couple of quick photos as it was on the procedures of starting the engines.

and when I write just for the record, its absolutely just for the record.... Today we got, for the second time ever, a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III...unfortunatelly couldn't manage to make some pics... The first C-17 at Madeira, was an american one, back in 2014 (check HERE ), and now, a Royal Air Force one: ZZI77 Arrived after lunch, from BZZ/EGVN (RAF Brize Norton) and departed about an hour later to Exeter (EXT/EGTE), not without a go-around, on arrival...  

Last Wednesday we got what was most probably the year's highlight: a Boeing C17A Globemaster III from USAF's Mobility Command. USAF planes aren't that usual around here and one of these big birds, even less.... (not sure if it was the first or second time but was probably the first time) Definitly pic of the week: landing on 05 It came from Ramstein Air Base   to make the medevac of 1 US military that was at Madeira (yeah...probably not the John Doe soldier...) The news on its arrival came in with a very short notice and most of guys dropped off everything and went running to the airport... Good thing that they weren't used to be around and looked to be a little bit "lost"....it gaves us time to get to the airport. Bem sei que o ano ainda nem vai a meio mas, ontem tivemos o que será, com toda a probabilidade, o Movimento do Ano, no Aeroporto da Madeira: um Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, da Força Aérea Norte-Americana. Por agora fica apenas esta imagem, assinalando a mudança de cabeçalho no blog. O resto das fotos, lá para amanhã ou sábado, já que alguma delas há de servir para foto da semana que se avizinha... Entretanto, não podia deixar de assinalar uma outra coisa que se salientou ontem de uma forma brutal, tal como em anteriores ocasiões idênticas: A Irmandade do Spotting em movimento... :) Se há coisa que dê mais gozo do que apanhar estes movimentos, é fazê-lo partilhando o momento com aqueles que têm a paixão do spotting, tal como nós, e ontem isso viu-se como já não me lembrava nos últimos tempos, a tentativa de avisar o máximo número de pessoas, por telefone, por sms, por Facebook, de Santa Cruz, ao Funchal e do Porto a Lisboa, o pessoal desdobrou-se em contactos ansiosos com o máx...
