Planes and stuff

This last week remembered Austrian Airlines, so a shot dedicated to the only airline that operated with the Boeing 777 to Madeira, back in 2006 OE-LPB on final to runway 05, from Vienna...

Back to 2005, at the Paris Air Show 2005, a shot of N6066Z, the demonstrator for the Boeing 777LR Shot taken less than a month after the first flight. Later (March 2006), became AP-BGZ, on Pakistan International Airlines.

For this photo of the Week, a return to LHR photos. Didn't go on a spotting trip, just took some shots while waiting for my flight with my small 17-50mm lens... Still, what an amazing airport, regarding traffic... German Wings A319 D-AGWV with some Brithish Airways and a United B777 on the back

Ainda em ritmo de férias, está custando voltar a colocar as publicações do blog em modo regular, apesar de tudo, cá fica mais uma pequena entrada relativa a um par de movimentos que tive oportunidade de apanhar recentemente na capital (Lisboa, LIS/LPPT/) Para muitos não serão nada de especial mas, o TAAG, com as suas belas cores (e o facto de ser um 777, 300 ainda por cima...) era algo que já me vinha a escapar desde os tempos do 747, uma vez que por diversas passagens em Lisboa tinha oportunidade de vê-los às distância e normalmente com toda a aparelhagem do handling em volta, sem grandes hipóteses de obter fotos limpas... Desta vez e apesar do vidro do terminal e de alguma distância, apanhei-o menos mal, precisamente na altura em que fazia o push-back... D2-TEH, o mais recente dos 777 da TAAG e um dos 2 aparelhos da versão 300 à sua frente ainda outro extra...um Jumbo que, apesar de ser um completo frigorífico, continua a ser um belo avião de se ver e muito raro em fren...

Got another photo published in one the magazines edited by Key Publishing: Aiports of the World (Jan/Feb 2012) It's my most viewed pic in Airliners.net , despite the backlight, it's not everyday you get to see a Boeing 777 landing at Madeira ... OE-LPA , the T7 from Austrian made some flights back in 2006 Fantastic sight indeed...

Today, a TAAG B777 had some kind of incident on the departure from Lisbon to Luanda. You can check more info at AVHerald (Edited Dec.13th - Added Link for the info on the incident from the Portuguese Investigation Beaurau: HERE ) Regarding this incident, it's yet too soon for causes and pointing fingers but I must admit that looking at its records, it's one airline I probably won't be flying.... Anyway, I do find their livery very nice, specially on their B777... Still never managed to get a really nice pic of it. Last vacations, during my scales in Lisbon, got to see their 777 but only managed to take pics through the terminal windows or through my plane's windows, during taxi... I guess that this one should be one of the best pics taken at the time... Didn't get the registration, so, don't really know if it's the one that had today's incident.... (D2-TEF)

One of my cousins went to Madrid, just to have the oportunity of flying the Cubana's IL-96 to Cuba...lol I got this IL-96 once, at Madrid, last Easter. I only had my small Ixus, so the quality isn't that good and also it's quite far...but it's registred! Anyway, in all that traffic the most exciting one for me was the B777, from Korean Air.... All in all, I only got this one because I was waiting for Rui Alves, so I guess you're responsable for this catch...LOL It was a crazy day...specially for you...Thank you for all my friend! A few days ago was browsing some older pics and took some time seeing the ones from the first flight to Madeira of Austrian's Boeing 777...what a day... Chose this one for the memory.... (by the way, will try to make one memory post for week, although my photos aren't that old, much has changed and you can always find something that brings some nice memories....)
