B767 are one regulars at Madeira but, during the summer, neighbour island of Porto Santo has been receiving a weekly flight from Milan by Neos, with the B763...

I-NDMJ just arriving from Milan...the return flight should arrive at Milan at an "interesting" time of the night....

Still struggled with the color tint of the pic due to the bus windows from where I took the pic but, I guess it's not too bad...

Fecho da Santa Bárbara Airlines

Alguns orgãos de comunicação social noticiaram hoje o anúncio de fecho efetivo das operações, a partir de Junho, da SBA, tal como da também Venezuelana Aserca.

Seria apenas mais uma companhia de um país sul-americano, não fosse o facto de estar ligada à Madeira pelo facto de ter, durante uns tempos, feito ligações entre Caracas e a Madeira.
Fica um dos registos feitos por cá, para recordar....

Após o rebranding ficou com umas cores fantásticas...

Photo of the Week: First time for the Smurfs

Last Friday we got, for the first time, Brussels Smurfs special livery.
It looks really fantastic (as all the other Brussels special liveries, by the way....)

Arriving from Brussels, around 17:25, it's a more interesting hour (light regarding) than the previous schedulle of sunday at the end of the morning...

The approach was windy and the touch down just a little bit longer than usual (for many of the planes, this day)

Pushing back, with the other highlight of the day....Privilege B767 EC-LZO that came with on  charter flight on behalf of Acuna Fombona, for a medical conference at Madeira.

The father smurf is the F/O and Smurfette is the Captain...in this case was about right, as the Captain was a woman and one of the nicest captains I've met ;)

For a bit of a change on Madeira traffic, a Boeing 767 of the US airline Delta, at Amsterdam Schiphol, beeing towed to the stand, with Air France A321 F-GTAZ taxiing to the runway:

TUI Uk big bird

Thomson's (TUI UK) more common planes around here are the B738 and the B752 but every now and the (twice...as far as I can remember) we get a bigger bird....no...not the 787...at least not yet...let's hope that's a bird we can see here, someday...

Photo of the Week: Condor 767

As far as I can remember, last time we had a B767 here was las year, in July, with Thomson G-OBYG making a flight to return home some passengers of Black Watch cruise ship that caught fire while on it's way to Madeira (Check HERE) and the last time I got a Condor 767, I still was shooting with my Bigma (and it was some of its last shots....) check HERE

So, a Condor 767 was well worth a run to the airport, even if it was just a "touch and go" before returning to Funchal, on a busy day, even to get one with a regular livery...(Still waiting for a retro, Condor....)

New Photo of the Week: Ship's plane

This weekend, cruise ship Black Watch had a fire on board while cruising from the Azores to Madeira.
Fortunately, no personel damage but the passengers had to finish the cruise earlier than expected...
The ship remains for repair at Funchal (check HERE) and the passengers went home by plane...

Thomson B763 G-OBYG was one of the planes used to transport the passengers back home and it was (as far as I can remember) a first here at Madeira...
Hopefully, now that they have at least one captain certified at Madeira Airport with the B763 we could get this one a few more times....... :)

Condor special

Last month we got a rare Condor 767, even more rare due to the fact that it was a special livery.

767's são coisa bem rara por estes lados pelo que quando algum aparelho destes marca presença entre nós, os spotters locais não perdem a oportunidade para umas fotos, em especial sendo a primeira vez que um 767 da Privilege cá vem (tanto quanto sei...) ... (outros 767 por cá, AQUI)
Tendo chegado na quinta-feira a uma hora que não podia ir até ao aeroporto, não podia perder a partida, ainda para mais, num Sábado de manhã...

Raridades...não muito raras...

Há um ditado que diz que o jardim do vizinho é sempre mais florido...e no caso do spotting, isso é bem verdade já que por mais fartos que os spotters locais estejam de um determinado avião ou companhia, para outros, esses mesmos movimentos podem ser motivo de destaque...

Há já muito que não faço uma viagem de spotting, limitando-me a registar, na medida do possível alguns movimentos enquanto em trânsito, como foram o caso destes, em Lisboa (LIS/LPPT)...
Nestes casos específicos nem se tratam de novidades absolutas já que qualquer uma destas companhias / aparelhos andaram pela Madeira mas, há já muito que por cá não põem rodas e é sempre agradável revê-los...

D-AIDX, A321 da Lufthansa que, depois de algum tempo a voar para a Madeira, decidiu abandonar as rotas....

CS-TFT da EuroAtlantic....estes aparelhos também já marcaram presença pela Madeira mas, apesar de ter preferido "apanhar" um B777, é sempre bem agradável registar um aparelho destes, mesmo que através da janela de outro avião....

e por fim...um par da A310, aparelhos que já tenho saudades de ver por cá, tanto com as cores White, como com as cores Sata, além dos 2 A320 que passaram a ser presença rara entre nós, após o fecho da base Sata em FNC
Fica o registo do CS-TKO, CS-TQV com o esquema White (sempre é melhor que frigo...), quanto aos outros, não consegui aperceber-me das matrículas...

Photo of the Week: Condor's Big boy, B767

Usually Condor's flights to Madeira are made with a couple of A320 and a B753 but for the last two weeks they've brought the bigger brother B767 instead of the 753.

Last week I didn't get it and this week I thought I wouldn't get it also but then just as I was passing by the airport, thinking it would be half-way to Lisbon, there it was starting the push-back....

Big Brothers...

Costumam dizer  que o "Big Brother is watching you"...mas, neste caso era eu quem estava a ver os "big brothers"...
Estava com vontade de colocar algo diferente e já que esta é daquelas que também não será aceite em nenhum dos habituais sites de fotografia, decidi dar-lhe um tratamento mais "forte", com uma dose extra de maquilhagem...

Não é todos os dias que tenho oportunidade de ver um A340 da Iberia.
Os 767 da Condor, apesar de já não serem inéditos por estes lados. também não é coisa que sejam habituais por estas bandas....

Manhã de Domingo

Finalmente, 3 semanas depois da estreia na Madeira, fui fotografar o Edelweiss, no seu voo semanal de Zurique.
Já que ia, mais valia fazer a manhã toda, já que as idas ao aeroporto não têm sido assim tantas e mais vale rentabilizar a gasolina, ainda por cima, seria uma manhã interessante, com um par de aviões que já não apanhava há imenso tempo e o 330 da TAP...

O primeiro da manhã (para mim...) foi o "French post"
Já não apanhava um avião desta companhia há já bastante tempo...

F-GFUF, B733 da Europe Airpost na final para a 05, com uma luz excelente.
As cores até são engraçadas e bem melhores que os habituais eurowhite que enchem esses céus actualmente...

G-EZBB, da Easyjet na final curta para a 05, a chegar de Lisboa

CS-TOF, o A330 da TAP, efectuando o TP148 de Caracas.
Apesar da boa visibilidade, não fez entrada directa, indo ao ABUSU iniciar a aproximação à 05

O Enter Air (SP-ENB) era outra das companhias que nunca mais tinha fotografado.
Esteve afastada durante a época de Inverno e voltou à Madeira com o início da época de Verão.
Com 2 voos semanais, ao Sábado de Paris, com passagem pelo Porto Santo e ao Domingo de manhã, de  Praga

e finalmente o HB-IHX da Edelweiss a chegar de Zurique...
Infelizmente e para não variar nas companhias que estão na minha wishlist, as fotos deste não ficaram grande coisa, com ondas de calor (chegou às 12:20) e algo desfocadas...
Ainda não é desta que vai para foto da semana...

Entretanto uma última captura de uma ave a passar bem nas alturas...
Ontem tivemos por cá um 767 da Condor, que veio buscar os passageiros do 757 daquela companhia que se tinha avariado.
Não me foi possível ir a esse ontem mas, acabei apanhando um 767 da Condor hoje...lol

New Photo of the Week: From Zurich...

Some time ago, I mentioned that Edelweiss Air was definitely one airline I'd wanted to see around...

Looks like that will come true, as they're announcing on their website flights from Zurich to Madeira as from May, 27th...GREAT!!

Anyway, while I haven't any pics on Edelweiss, choose this rare 767, from Belair that made a flight from that city, back in 2009...

Belair titles are quite rare around here and besides that, this must have been one of the few times (if not the only...) that they brought the 767...

New Photo of the Week - SBA

Last Saturday was a really nice spotting day and an even better gathering between some of the Spotters.
Definitelly a day like we hadn't had in quite a while.
A big thumbs up to everyone and also to the other spotters who unfortunatelly due work, couldn't join us.

I was really undecided on which pic I'd choose to this week's photo.
Ended up choosing this one from SBA....

This day we managed to get some pics that were really nice and rare (premiere's to me) but decided on this one because it's been a long time since I last caught an SBA which has a really nice livery that I like and anyway, it's not everyday you get these 18mm shots...
