Santa Bárbara Airlines

Imagem
Only today realised that I still hadn't published any Santa Barbara Airlines premiere at Madeira. Back then newcomers were still welcomed with a water salute from the fire dept. Later they brough a new red livery which was very nice but, looking back, this one has that retro touch, specially looking all these years after.... More pics on the water salute, later... B767 TF-FIB, arriving from Caracas....

TUI Farewell to B767

Imagem
The TUI group made yesterday its good-bye to the Boeing 767, at Amsterdam, with the departure of PH-OYJ to Istambul. This plane was use in several of the Tui Group airlines (UK, Belgian, Dutch) and a cerimony of farewall was held at Amsterdam. Around here, we had Tui 767 a few times but it wasn't a common plane to see around... G-OBYE back in July 2017

Condor farewell to 767

Imagem
Condor made its last 767 flight yesterday. The flight was carried by D-ABUK, from Havana to Frankfurt. At Madeira we only got their B767 sporadically and I never got D-ABUK but, still didn't to miss the oportunity to highlight the moment with one of my favourite shots of a Condor 767...D-ABUZ, also departing to Frankfurt, back in 2012.

Regresso do 767 Euroatlantic

Imagem

NEOS B763

Imagem
B767 are one regulars at Madeira but, during the summer, neighbour island of Porto Santo has been receiving a weekly flight from Milan by Neos, with the B763... I-NDMJ just arriving from Milan...the return flight should arrive at Milan at an "interesting" time of the night....

American Airlines

Imagem
When your plane parks by the side of an American Airlines B767, it's good to have a 10mm lens for a side shot :) Still struggled with the color tint of the pic due to the bus windows from where I took the pic but, I guess it's not too bad... N389AA at Lisbon apron

Privilege B767

Imagem
On the same day of Brussels Airlines Smurf, OO-SND (Check HERE ), we also got another rare visitor... Privilege B767 on a charter flight (the first of a few flights) due to a Medical Meeting... EC-LZO on final to runway 05 A little bit of wind, over the runway... Stickers of the Medical company that charted the plane....

Fecho da Santa Bárbara Airlines

Imagem
A notícia, AQUI

Photo of the Week: First time for the Smurfs

Imagem
Last Friday we got, for the first time, Brussels Smurfs special livery. It looks really fantastic (as all the other Brussels special liveries, by the way....) Arriving from Brussels, around 17:25, it's a more interesting hour (light regarding) than the previous schedulle of sunday at the end of the morning... OO-SND The approach was windy and the touch down just a little bit longer than usual (for many of the planes, this day) Pushing back, with the other highlight of the day....Privilege B767 EC-LZO that came with on  charter flight on behalf of Acuna Fombona, for a medical conference at Madeira. The father smurf is the F/O and Smurfette is the Captain...in this case was about right, as the Captain was a woman and one of the nicest captains I've met ;)

Delta 767

Imagem
For a bit of a change on Madeira traffic, a Boeing 767 of the US airline Delta, at Amsterdam Schiphol, beeing towed to the stand, with Air France A321 F-GTAZ taxiing to the runway: 20 year old 767 N190DN

TUI Uk big bird

Imagem
Thomson's (TUI UK) more common planes around here are the B738 and the B752 but every now and the (twice...as far as I can remember) we get a bigger bird....no...not the 787...at least not yet...let's hope that's a bird we can see here, someday... B767 G-OBYE taxiing to the apron, after a runway 05 landing. Like the first time I got their 767, also this time the weather was dark and that was the only area with some sun.... Late on the afternoon, didn't wait for the departure...

Photo of the Week: Condor 767

Imagem
As far as I can remember, last time we had a B767 here was las year, in July, with Thomson G-OBYG making a flight to return home some passengers of Black Watch cruise ship that caught fire while on it's way to Madeira (Check HERE ) and the last time I got a Condor 767, I still was shooting with my Bigma (and it was some of its last shots....) check HERE So, a Condor 767 was well worth a run to the airport, even if it was just a "touch and go" before returning to Funchal, on a busy day, even to get one with a regular livery...(Still waiting for a retro, Condor....) B763 D-ABUI, landing at runway 05  Definitely a German day at Madeira...despite the lonely Austrian, there in the middle :)

New Photo of the Week: Ship's plane

Imagem
This weekend, cruise ship Black Watch had a fire on board while cruising from the Azores to Madeira. Fortunately, no personel damage but the passengers had to finish the cruise earlier than expected... The ship remains for repair at Funchal (check HERE ) and the passengers went home by plane... Thomson B763 G-OBYG was one of the planes used to transport the passengers back home and it was (as far as I can remember) a first here at Madeira... Hopefully, now that they have at least one captain certified at Madeira Airport with the B763 we could get this one a few more times....... :) Arriving on a position flight from Manchester

Condor special

Imagem
Last month we got a rare Condor 767, even more rare due to the fact that it was a special livery. A couple of shots of D-ABUE, on the arrival and departure:

767 da Privilege

Imagem

New header for the blog: Condor 767

Imagem
Decided to make a change on the blog's header... Condor 767 D-ABUZ taking off from runway 05 I believe it's a pic that works really well for that place... You can check the full pic and entry related to that traffic HERE

Photo of the Week: Condor's Big boy, B767

Imagem
Usually Condor's flights to Madeira are made with a couple of A320 and a B753 but for the last two weeks they've brought the bigger brother B767 instead of the 753. Last week I didn't get it and this week I thought I wouldn't get it also but then just as I was passing by the airport, thinking it would be half-way to Lisbon, there it was starting the push-back.... D-ABUZ, a 767-330ER, taking off from runway 05 to Frankfurt, with Desert Islands on the back Nice white clouds....

Big Brothers...

Imagem
