Back to Air Invictus 2026, another shot of the beautifull P-51 Frances Dell (  OO-NZW) at Vila da Luz airfield with a great light...

This month we had, for the first time in a long time, a B757 Icelandair's TF-FIC on one of it world tours...unfortunatelly, completely white....still nice to see a 757 once more. Arrived from Brazil, stayed for a few days and departed to London, before heading to Reykjavik  Didn't get the landing nor the departure but, for the record, a shot of the apron on Aug.21st with a nice light and TAP's A321NEO CS-TJJ and Transavia's A321NEO PH-YHR with the new livery.

Today we got at Madeira, a Royal Canadian Air Force C-17 (177703), coming from Porto, after a night-stop there. The stop at Madeira was quite short, before proceeding to Marrakech Unfortunatelly, didn't manage to get it..bills aren't payed by spotting...  On the same day of Portugal Air Force C-130 16801 (Check HERE ) and EH-101 Medic25 (check Here ), managed to get a rare San Marino registration bird. T7-SLA, a Bombardier CL-600-2B19 Challenger 850 arriving from somewhere with someone... A tourist girl came and ask me who was the owner of the plane. Replied to her that it was a private plane and honestly, didn't know and didn't care.... It's a rare bird around here with nice colors...it's good and enough... After landing (with a hard light...) it backtracked to taxiway Charlie for a stop on A01... Didn't really liked any of the landing shots so, a taxi pic, entering the apron with the light on a more suitable heading...

Alguns registos do C-130 16801 na Madeira, após passagem pelo Porto Santo, no passado dia 20. Chegada pela 05: Algum tempo depois, veio a ter a companhia do EH-101 19607, que chegou igualmente do Porto Santo como Medic 25, numa missão de Evacuação Médica a partir daquela ilha. Mais fotos do Medic 25 AQUI O "C" acabaria por ficar em night-stop pela Madeira, partindo no dia seguinte.

These last years haven't been photographing many Austrians so, really not sure if the A320NEO is already regular around here but this was the first time I made some shots on one of their NEO's... OE-LZR arriving from Viena with some "special" titles

No passado dia 20 dei um salto ao aerporto para umas fotos à chegada do C-130 da Força Aérea Portuguesa, no seu voo semanal ao Porto Santo e Madeira. Depois de uma volta, voltei a passar pelo aeroporto a ver se ainda conseguia fazer umas fotos à saída do "C" Como ainda lá estava, decidi esperar...pouco depois surgia o Medic25 na frequência...algo sempre interessante de fotografar, especialmente com a luz que estava...  Com uma entrada curta na 05, vieram, como de costume algo altos, para um toque mais próximo à saída do taxiway Bravo... Se houvesse dúvidas na localização..... Uma dupla de importância por cá, com o pessoal da 501 a observar e fotografar a chegada do EH-101 19607 taxi para o stand... Desta feita, foi uma ambulância da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, que se deslocou do Funchal, para efetuar o transporte do paciente nos 20Km desde o Aeroporto da Madeira até o Hospital Central do Funchal, visto que o heliporto do referido Hospital serve apenas como teto do edifício onde...

 Today Madeira got, for the first time,  a B787. Also pretty sure it was the first time we got a Saudi Arabia goverment bird around here. Came from Faro after lunch and made a few training landings and take-offs with some holding on the taxiway between flights. A couple of shots from the last departure, with a nicer and less hard light... HZ-HM4

 A couple of Pilatus airplanes that I photographed recently... OK Aviation OK-PVG Pilatus PC-12, preparing to departure, to Ljubljana (LJU) And local based Pilatus PC-6 Porter, used for Skydiving. Not the best angle but it was the possible one...

This week, the Universe aligned for us... Was lucky enough to be around for some shots on McLaren's couple of days testing with the MCL60, before the summer break. It was the first time I had the oportunity to see, ear and photograph an F1 and how amazing it was... I'd rather have it over a V10 engine but really can't complain for a first oportunity after many years just watching on TV. You can check the McLaren report on these tests, HERE Equiped only with the usual Canon 760D and Canon 18-135mm for vacations, I guess I could get worst results on the few shots I managed to get on some of Oscar Piastri runs... Can tell you that it's definitely harder to photograph an F1 than a plane, specially from the location I had available... A few more shots... Piastri completed 55 laps at Portimão, and it was its first Formula 1 runs on the circuit.

Não sou fã de futebol mas acabei deitando um olho mais ou menos atento à final do Mundial, entre a Espanha e a Argentina... ;) Fica um registo do Zivko Aeronautics Edge 540 V3 N26VE, do Juan Velarde, sobre o Douro, durante o Invictus 2026...Parabéns Espanha!!

Um par de cliques à chegada do C-130 16801, do Porto Santo. Acabou por chegar um pouco mais cedo do que eu estava à espera e na sequencia de um Wizzair...as chegadas pela 23 são sempre mais sequênciais e expeditas....acabei por só ter tempo para parar, sacar da máquina e fazer 3 cliques...por sorte a máquina estava com uns settings adequados... A partida para o continente acabou por ficar aquém, para mim, já que o spot que escolhi não foi o mais adequado ao tipo de descolagem....mais longa e baixa...paciência... Só por curiosidade, as 80K horas de voo da frota, assinaladas na cauda do aparelho, foram atingidas já em Setembro de 2019, pelo que agora devem ter mais umas quantas horas em cima, mesmo tendo em conta os processos de modernização que têm sido alvo e respectivos períodos de paragem, bem como o início de operações da Esquadra 506, com o KC-390

Local Aeroclub Tecnam P2002JF Sierra EC-MQY taxiing to the runway for a local flight And a more rare Pilatus PC-12 taxiing for the departure for it's first leg, to Cascais (check HERE )

  Condor A321 D-ABAB departing from runway 23 to Dusseldorf, with Transavia France F-HTVS finishing the push-back and Spanish Air Force Super Puma HD.21-18, at the far end of the apron. The Spanish Puma had arrived from Ponta Delgada, where it was part of ASAREX 26, a SAR Exercise. Will be departing today for Las Palmas.

De regesso às fotos do Air Invictus 2026, em Vilar de Luz, uns cliques ao EC-MYM, o Reims-Cessna FTB337G Super Skymaster C/N 0024, o ex-FAP 3723, entregue em 1975. O aparelho fez umas belas passagens mas, acabei por fazer c@g@d@, uma vez que na altura em que ligou motores, baixei a velocidade do obturador imenso, para uns prop blurs e depois, distraído com a conversa ao lado, esqueci-me de voltar a subir, para praticamente todas as passagens... Aguardando a hora de ligar motores. com o Citabria N661CP numa das suas passagens de lado, ao fundo... o tal prop blur.... e siga fumos... Nesta aqui, entretanto já tinha subido a velocidade ...

Alguns clique ao N806PB, o Zivko Aeronautics Edge 540 V3 do Martin Sonka, obtidos no dia 20, no Douro, com as cores da Red Bull Com a ponte Luís I ao e o metro...pena que faltaram os fumos...

Com o 74º Aniversário da Força Aérea assinalado durante a semana passada (1 de Julho), a foto da semana tinha de ser dedicada àquele ramo das Forças Armadas. Já tinha tido oportunidade de fazer umas fotos ao AW-119 Koala em 2022, no decorrer das Comemorações dos 70 Anos da Força Aérea Portuguesa, em Beja mas, vale sempre a pena apanhar uns Zangões... Depois de algumas fotos no decorrer da exposição estática, com as condições habituais nessas ocasiões, lá tive oportunidade de fazer uns cliques ao final da tarde, durante a saída do aparelho de regresso à BA11 - Beja, onde está baseada a Esquadra 552. Preparando o aparelho para a saída... Com o início da descolagem, também toda a poeira, pedrinhas e restante micro universo em volta descolou em todas as direções....um clique e toca a voltar-me, mais que não fosse, para proteger a lente de alguma pedra mais certeira....
