Photo of the Week: By the monastery

 


Had, recently, the oportunity for some shots on what must be a place on the whishlist of every spotter: Corfu (Corfu International Airport - Ioannis Kapodistrias)

Wasn't a spotting trip and didn't have my usual spotting lens, just the all around 18-135, still made a few shots...indeed a real paradise with a few spots all with lovely landscapes.
This was shot mid morning, at Kanoni, with the recognizable Monastery of Vlacherna and Condor (Fly Air141) A319 9A-MUC on final to runway 34.

If you don't have a car, Bus 2A just finishes the route (starting at Splanada Square) by the famous Royal Grand Veranda, quite near this spot.

Encontrei esta semana, entre os arquivos mais antigos (de há 10 anos...) uns registos dignos de nota (não tanto pela qualidade mas, pelo momento, especialmente a esta distância temporal... ) Por hoje fica esta parelha de Dassault-Breguet Falcon 50, um da Força Aérea Francesa e outro da Esquadra 504 da Força Aérea Portuguesa....algo que nunca mais consegui apanhar desde então... 29.Out.2007 - 17403 dos Linces, em companhia de um Falcon 50 Francês.

Air Dolomiti

 Air Dolomiti Embraer 190LR I-ADJP arriving at Venice. Air Dolomiti has one of those really simple but nice liveries (personal opinion...) that fits really well on the Embraer. Curiously, the first time I made some photos on one of its planes, was also in Venice, back in 2005: I-ADLN, an ATR-72 that is now scrapped, after beeing transfered to Asian Wings Airways, in 2011...time really goes by...

Flying over Porto Santo

These were on the "bucket" since last November.... They were taken on the day of the activation of AM3 during a couple of passes over Porto Santo, for some aerial shots of military LPPS (AM3) and...of course, the rest of the island. Indeed a fantastic oportunity given by the Air Force to be present at such an event and my baptism on the new C-295, after beeing already "baptized" on the C-130 and the C-212 (next stop...the EH-101..LOL) The island is rather small and this is pretty much everything in one shot.... Approaching the beach (with around 9Km of fantastic golden sand...) The bubbled window provided some great views and quite a diferent framing...looks like you're outside the plane...
