Foto da Semana: A330

Imagem

JLO

Imagem
No...not talking about THE J.LO... :P Embraer EMB-135 BJ Legacy PP-JLO is already a regular visitor to Madeira. From last December 15th, the same day of the Falcon Aviation Gulfstream (check HERE ): This one arrived already after sunsetting behind the mountains...tryed some panning on landing but opposite to the Gulfstream shot, these ones turned out crappy blurred, so...a shot of the backtrack to the stand...

From before Christmas, a sequence on the landing of Norwegian B738 LN-NHE on runway 23 with a white tail...a good oportunity to costumize it on photoshop... :P Maybe some other day...for now, the shots... Photo of the Week: Lucky Shot

Transavia France F-HTVF From the same day of TAP's A330 and the Portuguese President Falcon (more on those later...) the final shot of the day... Was already dark and with no tripod, the guys were fooling around on the competition for the worst pic of the day :) Took plenty of great candidats to the worst one but on this shot was lucky enough to get it fucused and with the beacon... Belgian Sea King

Imagem
Belgian Air Force's Westland Seaking Mk.48 made their last formation flight as the helicopters are on its way to full retirement next March. During its operational life since 1976, the Sea King was a familiar sight, reaching more than 60,000 flying hours with the Belgian air force's 40th squadron. So, a good oportunity to share a pic of the one preserved at the Air Museum, in Brussels RS01, the oldest of the Belgian Sea Kings, at the Royal Army Museum, at Brussels, a place that definitely deserves a visit if you're on the city This helicopter has been flown to the Jubelpark/Cinquantenaire esplanade at Brussels in front of the Royal Army Museum, before entering on display...really cool...Check this page for more info / pic on that, HERE

Photo of the Week: Panning the Gulfstream

TAP 321NEO

Imagem
From the same day of the premiere of Swiftair's Madeira Products livery (check HERE), a few shots of the arrival and departure of TAP's A321NEO CS-TJI. It's allways a nice catch...it was the same NEO I had previously photographed but ...oh well..different angle... coming to a stop after landing on runway 23 Those engines look really nice... Take-off from runway 23... away with a great blue sky...

Condor retro back to normal

Imagem
Looks like D-AICA, Condor's A320 carrying the retro livery was ferried this month back to the paint shop for a return to regular livery... D-AICA departing from Madeira's runway 23 It was a really nice livery and a change on the usual Thomas Cook / Condor ones... Check a few more pic's of this plane HERE

CS-TPB scrapped...

Imagem
CS-TPB landing at Madeira, back in August 2013 After 2 years of storage at Porto airport, former Portugália's Fokker 100 CS-TPB was scrapped yesterday...allways a sad end for a plane, specially one that we used to see flying around... Check the youtube video of the scrapping HERE

New Photo of the Week: IceJet Dornier 328

Imagem
Sometimes, when you go back into the middle of your old archives, you can find some real treasures... Back from February 2010, it was a real surprise for me finding this one...Didn't remember seeing this nice bird here, nor had processed any pics of it... (Also...interesting to see that the weather was really nice...15 days later, the sky itself would fall over Madeira with a storm that made lot's a dead people and a lot of destruction on the island, after raining consistently over a few days...looks like it hadn't started yet...) IceJet Dornier 328 TF-NPB Couldn't find any recent pics of this plane...anyone knows where it is now?

The Swiss Easyjet

Imagem
During winter season, Easyjet has a route from Geneve to Madeira. It's not much of a change but it's a change, to see an Easyjet with Swiss registration... A320 HB-JYD entering the apron, from runway 23 The departure, also from runway 23...an early take off

Small Planet Grounded

Imagem
After quite some time struggling to maintain itself and its three subsidiaries, looks like lithuanian airline Small Planet has really gone down... Check this LINK for the news... For all the people working there, the best of luck for a new start... A320 LY-SPG at Madeira, 27.May.2016

O Star Alliance

Imagem

The first one

Imagem
From the begining of the month, on a windy day that put most of the traffic diverting to other airports, I went to the airport for the departure of local troops to Iraq (check HERE )... Was expecting to get some arrivals but with the wind out of limits (sometimes by 1kt) the planes weren't coming... Finally, after some holdings, this little Learjet 60 came in for a landing, during a break on the wind... ADAC's Learjet 60 D-CURE made way for the bigger planes...after its landing, finally traffic started coming..unfortunatelly as the planes were coming, the light was going off...

Foto da semana: Exercício Emergência Marítima

Imagem
O navio utilizado no simulacro, o ferry inter-ilhas Lobo Marinho....

End of the line for A330 CS-TOH

Imagem
TAP's A332 CS-TOH, known for carrying the Star Alliance livery whitin the airline's long-haul fleet has finished today its active duty with TAP Air Portugal. It's also known to be the oldest A330-200, was the prototype of the model, with the first flight on Aug.13th 1997, as F-WWKA. After a time on Austrian, has been flying for TAP since 2007. Will now be flown to storage in Spain (where probably will be scrapped...). A few more shots on this plane, HERE

Vinci Airports Spotters Day 2018 - Madeira (FNC/LPMA)

Imagem
Na manhã do passado Sábado, a Vinci Airports organizou a I Edição do Vinci Airports Spotters Day. Saída do

Photo of the Week: F-16

Portuguese Air Force F-16 15133 landing at Madeira Last Sunday afternoon an Air Astana Embraer that had taken off from Alverca, after a C Check declared emergency due to problems that made the airplane almost uncontrollable. Initially they wanted to ditch the plane into the sea but after some time and with the help of the ATC and a couple of 2 Portuguese Air Force scrambled to intercept them, they managed to land (at 3rd atempt) the plane at Beja Air Base... Great job on piloting that Embraer in those conditions and also a good job on the PrtAF pilots... No Air Astana planes pics so, pic of the week goes for a Portuguese Viper.... You can check the comunications and FR24 video on that situation, HERE
