Planes and stuff

From the same day that Ryanair began operations at Madeira (Check HERE ) a couple of shots of the departure of Edelweiss A320 HB-IJW, back to Zurich, pushing back under the rainbow (no gold on this side... :P  )

This week we had the begining of the Ryanair operations at Madeira.  I guess it should be an interesting theme for the Photo of the Week but definitely I rather want to dedicate it to WizzAir...One of my favourite liveries around here and one I barely have any pics... Daily cargo flight unloading... Swiftair ATR-72 EC-MIY, with a very nice rainbow, while WizzAir A320 G-WUKD comes in for a landing... Touchdown, from London - Luton 

Yeah...I know it's a corny title... ;) Anyway, just as Thomas Cook Uk resumed its flights to Madeira I tought of getting this one. After all, allways liked Monarch's livery (specially on the A321) and (in my opinion) this hybrid livery looks a lot better than the regular Thomas Cook one.... Despite the good weather a few km from the airport, at LPMA it was dark and raining... Didn't managed to get the landing but, still managed a quick touch&go of my own for its departure... G-TCVB (former Monarch's G-ZBAE) pushing back to ruway 05 Departure with the beacons :) Not too shiny but still, hardly ever get them, so it's nice enough :)

Summer's ended so today decided to post a rainy day shot ..lol Back from February..Transavia France B738 F-GZHP landing on runway 23 right after some shower rain with the runway still wet for some refletions... Just noticed that this is the first pic of this registration I publish on the blog... :)

Last Monday morning the weather was definitely not top sharp for photos...but we had some spotters from the mainland on a visit so, at least it would be worth it for the gathering... For today, just this Easy A320 with sharklets (G-EZPO) making a rainy landing on runway 05...

Someone said that rain provides the conditions to nice pics....yeah...if it's not dull and dark... Most of last Thursday morning was on the dull side but, got lucky with the arrival of Monarch's A320 G-OZBY, after some rain and with a little bit of shy sun...all together with the new tarmac and fresh markings made some really nice refletions... After a few days of intense rain, this morning the sun was shinning at Madeira airport and, for the pics, the after rain clean morning air and light it's pretty nice! Easyjet's Amsterdam special livery (G-EZDN) has been based at Lisbon for a few days and already made a few Lisbon-Madeira-Lisbon trips but until this morning didn't have the oportunity to get it... But...for now, a few shots of the Monarch's A321 arrival from Birmingham, more on the Easyjet, later.... G-OZBZ spraying some water, after landing on runway 23

Apesar de ultimamente estar a dedicar-me mais ao spotting naval (e a gostar cada vez mais...), o dia de hoje trazia um movimento que não podia deixar passar em branco: o primeiro A330 da Air Berlin da temporada de Inverno... Infelizmente, a meteo não tem estado nada famosa por cá nos últimos dias e, a exemplo de ontem, muita volta os aviões deram no ABUSU e arredores antes de conseguirem aterrar por cá (para nem mencionar os que ainda foram fazer "turismo" ao Porto Santo ou Canárias...) De qualquer forma, com maior ou menos visibilidade, os aviões lá vieram e de impermeável e agarrado ao guarda-chuva e máquina, fiz as fotos possíveis... D-ALPG, o primeiro A330 da Air Berlin, nesta temporada de Inverno CS-TJG, A321 da TAP também foi obrigado a uma dose extra de holdings, enquanto aguarda melhoria da visibilidade... G-EZUN da Easyjet, que ontem foi obrigado a divergir para Tenerife Sul, veio daquela ilha tentar a sorte hoje mas, ainda foi obrigado a imensas órbita...

Yesterday stopped at the airport during lunch time, expecting to see something interesting... Things were pretty quiet and the weather was quite awfull with heavy rain. Despite that, during a break on the rain, noticed that the water on the apron was mirroring the colors of the parked aircraft.... CS-TKJ 's new colors were reflecting a lot despite beeing the farther one  CS-TMW PGA 's F100 are still regular around here... ( CS-TPC ) Anyway, nothing was going on and I had to leave... Not far from the airport, met a military convoy heading for the airport....so decided to go back with the hope of getting 16803, the Portuguese Air Force C-130 with the new grey livery... Weather was getting worst from the side of runway 23, specially on the visibility... Despite that was the runway in use, the PoAF crew decided to land on 05 which was still with clear visibility. Started searching for the approaching plane to check if it was the 16803 but all I could see on the...
