Planes and stuff

Alguns orgãos de comunicação social noticiaram hoje o anúncio de fecho efetivo das operações, a partir de Junho, da SBA, tal como da também Venezuelana Aserca. Seria apenas mais uma companhia de um país sul-americano, não fosse o facto de estar ligada à Madeira pelo facto de ter, durante uns tempos, feito ligações entre Caracas e a Madeira. Last Saturday was a really nice spotting day and an even better gathering between some of the Spotters. Definitelly a day like we hadn't had in quite a while. A big thumbs up to everyone and also to the other spotters who unfortunatelly due work, couldn't join us. I was really undecided on which pic I'd choose to this week's photo. Ended up choosing this one from SBA.... YL-LCY , the 767 from SBA, ready to push back This day we managed to get some pics that were really nice and rare (premiere's to me) but decided on this one because it's been a long time since I last caught an SBA which has a really nice livery that I like and anyway, it's not everyday you get these 18mm shots...   Take off to Caracas, from runway 05 Right engine was leaving a big and dark tail of smoke....(the other one was quite regular...)

Yesterday got a few more shots rejected at Airliners.net. They're getting more and more picky everyday and if the SBA was nothing really special, regarding quality, in my opinion, the Luxair's and the Sharan's were really nice ones... Lately I've been sending less and less pics to Airliners, and I guess it's time to stop sending them at all, they sure won't miss my pics and I won't wast my time on them... Have a few more on queue, if they're acepted, it's ok, if they're rejected, who cares.... Will keep uploading to Jetphotos and obviously the main point of upload is now this blog. Yesterday (06.Jun.2009) it was quite an interesting morning at LPMA: The return of SBA (Santa Bárbara) from Caracas and the first daylight visit of Sata's new A320, with the new livery. Any way, the Sata's photos will be for another post. Initially schedulled for the 8h, the Santa Bárbara had a 2hour delay, arriving a few minutes after 10h. Must admit that I the B767 is not one of my favorite planes. It doesn't come much to Madeira and I don't really miss it but in this livery it looks really amazing!!! A lucky shot, with the beacons on... This Swiss Air Ambulance was an unexpected visitor. It's allways a nice catch... After this, took my daughter to the playground, at Santa Cruz. Decided that would be there until she wanted to go home and wouldn't worry much on getting the departure of SBA. When she was ready to leave, we made a quick pass behind the airport just to check the status of SBA and then noticed it was just finishing the push-back to runway 05. Heade...
