The return from AMS

Imagem
Transavia made, last Saturday, its first flight from Amsterdam, after the Covid shutdown. An expected return as it marks the return of the flights from the Netherlands market. Today, it made the second weekly flight. It was the first one I got, after the Covid shutdown and with an extra...it was the first Transavia I ever got with the Scimitar winglets, all with a very nice morning light...B738 PH-HXG on final to runway 05

Photo of the Week: The almost gone canadian

Imagem
You know you're getting lazy on the pics when you realise you are about to delete a card with the pics of a one time catch and still haven't copied them to you HDD....almost one month later... Still, managed to save them... Tui Nederlands (Arke) made some flights to Madeira using Sunwing hybrid planes. Already had caught C-FTOH (check HERE ) but after spotting C-GOWG over Amsterdam (high on the sky) they finally brought it to Madeira at least a couple of times...got it once... Landing on 05 A colorful TUI apron :) (Tuifly's CEWE, D-ATUH still with the white nose, after its birdstrike the previous week, at Madeira)

BLUE by Tuifly

Imagem
This week finally managed to get the two last Tuifly special liveries that I still hadn't photographed... D-ATUG Tuifly Magic Life, on Sunday (check HERE ) and the last one, Tui BLUE, on Tuesday :) A few shots of the D-ATUD Tui BLUE ...and what better scenery than Madeira Island's blue sea and sky to match this one? ;) Over runway 05... Touchdown....  A a shot of the departure also from runway 05, with Ponta de S.Lourenço in front...

Travel Service

From April, Travel Service B738 OK-TVS, now with scimitars, holding short off runway 05:

Spotlight...

Imagem

Luxair on 05

First Luxair pics I publish from this year...LX-LBA B738 landing on runway 05:

Robinson by Tuifly

Imagem
This week we got the first visit of Tuifly's newest logojet, hosting a Robinson Club Resorts livery. Looks really nice, specially with that light... D-ATUI, coming to a stop after a runway 23 landing

Afternoon's Luxair

Imagem
A few shots from last Nov.9th 2015 of the arrival of Luxair's B738 LX-LBA with a great afternoon light... Arriving at runway 05. from Luxembourg. all up :) business as usual around the plane

Night shots

Imagem
A couple more shots from last month when I went with a local spotter and a visiting spotter to the balcony for some night shots... Unfortunatelly, windy night, not long exposure friendly... Smartwings OK-TVU carrying a Travel Service flight and OO-JAX, from Jetairfly by its side... The smaller birds, ZS-JDL, a Bombardier Challenger 300 (BD-100-1A10) and local inter-island carrier Aerovip's Jetstream CS-DVQ, getting ready to depart to Porto Santo (PXO/LPPS)

Sharklets, Scimitars e outras que tais...

Imagem

Tuifly arrival with scimitars

Imagem
For some time I was only interested in Tuifly planes if it holded a special livery but noticed that I almost didn't have any pics of good ol'yellow ones... Ando also, now that the scimitar winglets are beeing fitted, it's an extra point of interest to make some shots of these birds.... B738 D-ATUA landing on runway 05, arriving from Cologne (CGN) Those scimitar look really nice (don't know if it's worth but they look nice)

Yet another scimitar....

Imagem
The TUI group has started fitting the new scimitar winglets on its planes and already some of its planes from Thomson and Tuifly (at least) are to be seen with these. It's still not usual enough for me to overlook it so, here's another one: G-TAWD, from Thomsonfly, landing at Madeira's runway 05. When I saw another B737 from Thomsonfly on final to runway 05, wasn't even going to photograph it but then noticing the scimitars, just had the time for a couple of shots just as it was landing...

Scimitar

Imagem
No...won't be talking about old weapons... Actually this is about something new, the new Winglets that are beeing mounted in Boeing planes: Scimitar Winglets. Today Madeira had the visit of one bird using these: Thomson Airways B738 G-FDZF, arriving from East Midlands. Didn't make any amazing pics but at least is another new stuff for the collection. landing on runway 05 with dull weather The top winglets is also a bit diferent from the old ones.... Tui group will install them on their fleet but, as far as I know this is the only Thomson airplane with these Winglets and Thomson it the only European Airline with these... (Corrections from anyone?)
