Planes and stuff

Surgiu no final desta semana a intenção do Governo Regional de promover a vinda de um helicóptero, que ficaria baseado no Funchal, para viagens turísticas, transportes privados, etc...a exemplo do que já aconteceu há alguns anos atrás, com a Heliatlantis Inicialmente baseada no porto do Funchal, com um Ecureuil e posteriormente com um Robinson R44, a Heliatlantis fez os seus últimos dias de operação por cá a partir do aterro formado com os detritos do aluvião do 20 de Fevereiro de 2010, depois da zona onde operava inicialmente ter sido destruída nessa tragédia. Escolhi precisamente um registo do CS-HEU, operado pela Helibravo, neste último local, por ser uma zona que está atualmente bem diferente, relativamente ao ano de 2011 (19 de Janeiro), em que tirei a foto e  que é sensivelmente a zona onde, eventualmente, deverá operar o heli, caso a pretensão se concretize............. De notar que também a estátua e Praça da Autonomia, que se vê na foto, mudaram de local e formato, ap...

Back to the Madeira Airport pics... First time I got an Easyjet A321NEOMA  with the new special titles... Arriving from London Gatwick yesterday afternoon. G-UZMA about to land on runway 05 With Tuifly Robinson special livery (B738 D-ABKN) holding shot off runway 05 Taxiing to the gate with some heat waves but still noticeable M-RFAP, a Dassult Falcon 7X and Privilege B752 EC-HDS, that brough F.C.Porto to play with C.S.Marítimo for the Portuguese Premiere League.

 On the week of the return of Tuifly to Madeira, they brought us its 2 new special liveries... After the new TUI Blue, on the first day (check HERE ), yesterday we got the new Robinson livery, now on B738 D-ABKN. The flight arrived from Dusseldorf but only managed to make a quick "touch&go" trip at the airport, for the departure, a longer departure than I expected...

From last weekend, the first time I got D-ATUI ( Tuifly Robinson) landing on runway 23... (actually, first time I got the Robinson flying at all....) With a very nice afternoon light, it's allways a pleasure to get those landings... on final to runway 23 Photo of the Week...

Yesterday, on lunch time, went to the harbour, trying to get the Heliatlantis/Helibravo airborn. The only pics I had of it were from the days after its arrival and all on the ground. As I was arriving, noticed its noise...landing or taking off?? I was lucky. It wasn't on the helipad. So, I just had to wait a little bit. Probably 15minutes. After around 15m there it was again coming back... It's definitely a lot lighter than the other helicopter. The last time I had go to that place, I got a "bath" from the sea water, sprayed by the downdraft of the rotor. This one came in a bit higher and didn't spray neither water nor even some wind... Refueling...
