Looks like Monarch's A320 G-MONX was ferried for part-out & scrap... Still got it a few times around here (at some time it even looked like it was the only plane Monarch was bringing to Madeira ...) A couple of shots....

New Photo of the Week: Spotting at LPMA

Last Thursday had to go to Machico. If things turned out ok, I could manage to get the right timming to catch the arrival of the schedulled Monarch. Unfortunatelly, didn't manage to do so... Still, made a quick stop on one of the best and usual spotting places just in time to get the arrival of D-AICG , from Condor (come on Condor, how about bringing the retro D-AICA to Madeira??) With a regular A320 from Condor , decided for a diferent view on its landing Indeed a fantastic spotting place (it just needed the matching traffic....) G-MONX , the Monarch A320 had already arrived. It was the first visit from Monarch since they stoped flying to Madeira, at the end of last Summer season. A charter flight, from Manchester, via London Gatwick that is schedulled to depart Sunday. Anyway an already well known registation at Madeira... On its regular parking, CS-TKJ , from Sata... It sure spends a lot of time stoped over there... Rumors on Sata International p...

Still remeber when  Easyjet started flying to Madeira ...wow! Finally the oportunity to get  Easyjets .... Well...that thrill is already gone since quite a long time... But now the Orange G-EZUI has brought a new interest on the hunt for Easyjet planes at Madeira... Anyway, while I don't get it here, some pics of G-EZDD, taken on the day after the winds that made planes divert to Porto Santo and Canarias Arriving at the stand, passing by Jet2 B737 with Jet2 Holidays special livery (G-GDFD) that was diverted to Porto Santo the day before. Entering the stand, just by the side of Monarch's A320 G-MONX that made a night-stop at Madeira, also due to the winds Wind was still pretty hard so, take-off were being made quite early...

Monarch's going up....

The  Monarch's  flight, last Monday, was one of the flights that were affected by strong winds... Due to that situation it diverted to Lisbon (without even coming to try the landing at Madeira). Later on the afternoon, with a more suitable meteo, it finally came to Madeira but then it was already too late (crew flight time) for the England return.  It made a night-stop, departing Tuesday morning to Bournemouth... Monarch's A320 ready for push-back G-MONX pushing-back to runway 05 Sometimes, no sun is good sun... Considering the strong winds (and early take-offs), decided to try a different spot which turned out rather nice but, would be impossible to use in the morning if the sun was strong as it would be completely backlight...
