Planes and stuff

 20 Years ago (Sep.12th 2005), PGA - Portugália made its first flight to Madeira. Quite a sight...Fokker 100 were rare around here (and beside PGA, continued to be...) and back then, the Airport and Madeira still welcomed new airlines/routes with a salute bath from the fire department...quite a sight and definitely a lot more eye catching than whatever they do now.... CS-TPE had the honour of beeing the first... Aviation has definitely changed (don't know if it has really evolved) and I hope my photographs have evolved in quality but still, moments like these are one of the reasons that made me want to photograph, instead of just watch planes... Now PGA has been rebranded as TAP Express, operating the Embraer 190/5...still, it is just me or the Fokker 100 were quite more confortable? More PGA photos, HERE More CS-TPE photos, HERE

Back from 2012, a shot I hadn't published previously... A Cobham Flight Precision Beach Craft on a night-stop with a PGA Fokker 100 taxiing on the back to runway 05...history already... PGA's Fokker 100 were, some years ago, phased out and Cobham isn't making the calibrations around here also for some years.... Fokker 100 PH-OFE / FE-004 Well, I guess not many Airport balconies with an open Fokker 100 with the air radio comms inside...you gotta love it :) Looks like the balcony will be under works up to the summer so, for the current visitors of Amsterdam Schiphol it may not be possible to get up there... Luckily, despite all the rain we got on the Netherlands, that day the weather was really nice for some spotting on the terrace...

Esta semana foi anunciada publicamente a criação da marca TAP Express, que substituirá a PGA no grupo TAP, bem como a vinda de outros aviões para substituição dos já cansados Fokker 100 e Embraer ERJ-145, operados pela PGA. A cumprir-se a calendarização anunciada, as cores e actuais aparelhos da PGA serão em breve parte da historia...fica pois a foto da semana então dedicada aos Fokker 100 da PGA... CS-TPC, descolando da 23 em Agosto de 2012 Ficam também um registo do outro tipo de aparelho operado pela PGA...o ERJ-145, na única vez que tive oportunidade de lhes fazer umas fotos por cá (Porto Santo): CS-TPJ no Porto Santo (LPPS / PXO) em Agosto de 2011

É bastante raro termos por cá aparelhos romenos mas, após ter publicado a saída do Tarom (ver AQUI ), fica hoje outro dos destaques do final do ano passado, que ainda não tinha publicado...mais um romeno, neste caso, um Fokker 100 da Carpatair que cá veio a meados (12) de Dezembro de 2015, num voo fretado para transportar a equipa de futebol do F.C. Porto, que jogou na Madeira com o C.D. Nacional. YR-FZA à chegada ao stand, na Madeira. Depois de algumas semanas antes outro voo Carpatair ter divergido para o Porto Santo , sem tentar sequer a aproximação, devido às condições atmosféricas e consequente adiamento do jogo entre a equipa nortenha e a equipa local, finalmente tive oportunidade de apanhar um avião desta companhia. preparado para a estadia nocturna...o avião acabaria por saír vazio na manhã de 14 de Dezembro, eventualmente devido a compromissos já assumidos e a equipa do F.C. Porto regressou num voo TAP , uma vez que as condições de nevoeiro na Choupana (local do estád...

Um pouco mais tarde que o habitual mas, cá fica a foto da semana e mais alguns registos do mesmo dia. Era algo que tinha curiosidade em visitar há muito... Quando, há algum tempo atrás me foram solicitadas algumas fotos, pedi apenas que, caso tivessem oportunidade de facilitar algumas fotos destas, o fizessem... A promessa não ficou esquecida, pelo que agradeço a todos os que tornaram esta pequena sessão possível. Cockpit do Jetstream da Aerovip CS-DVQ, com o Fokker 100 CS-TPF, da PGA a entrar na placa  Com o pouco tempo disponível e aproveitando a boa vontade da tripulação, optei por efectuar alguns registos menos convencionais.... Outra perspectiva do cockpit  Já a partir da varanda, o CS-DVQ preparava-se para o voo de regresso ao Porto Santo  Por fim, uma pequena brincadeira, com um tratamento um pouco mais forte que o habitual nas minhas fotos :)

O Fokker 100 continua a ser daqueles aparelhos que gosto sempre de fotografar...talvez por quebrar a hegemonia Airbus/Boeing que grassa por estas bandas... Há muito que se fala na sua substituição mas, suponho que nos tempos mais próximos ainda andarão pelos céus ostentando as cores PGA... CS-TPA na final para a 05

Há uma semana atrás fazia-se uma autêntica ponte aérea entre a Madeira e o continente, a fim de fazer regressar a casa os milhares de turistas que escolheram o destino Madeira para o final do ano e levar de regresso ao trabalho os muitos estudantes e madeirenses em geral que estudam e trabalham por lá... Por hoje ficam estes registos do CS-TPA a preparar o voo de regresso, um PGA entre muitos TAP's

Tive oportunidade de estrear, há poucos dias, o Fokker 100 da PGA... No CS-TPE, pouco depois da descolagem, de Lisboa Confesso que fiquei agradavelmente surpreendido pelo avião. Os interiores encontravam-se bastante bem conservados e os bancos eram bastante confortáveis e com bastante espaço (se bem que eu não sou alto...). Era também bastante silencioso (se bem que, neste aspecto, foi factor primordial o facto de ter viajado na parte da frente do avião....se tivesse ido atrás, certamente não teria esta opinião....) e para finalizar, a tripulação era bastante simpática... Muito bom, até porque o facto do avião não dispor de ecrãs não foi grande chatice, visto em todos os voos transmitirem basicamente a mesma coisa....

Como já referi, ainda tenho muito o hábito de fazer as minhas fotos quase exclusivamente centradas nos aviões, descurando outros angulos/abordagens mais amplas... Hoje decidi fazer outra abordagem à chegada do B753 da Condor, D-ABOL, de Leipzig...tentar fazer umas fotos "à Miguel Nóbrega"... :) Vou ter de treinar mais um pouco...mas, cá ficam 2.... Apesar de parecer ir a descolar ou a borregar, vem mesmo na final curta para a 05...a 17mm Quando fazia o taxi para a 05, para o regresso a Leipzig, com a fish-eye...

At first, this PGA Fokker 100 called my attention due to the light on the engine blades and reflections on the fuselage... Pushing-back on the right moment to get a couple of Dutch planes (with the extra of the "cherry" on the bottom of the plane...) PGA's Fokker (Dutch factory) 100 CS-TPF, pushing back for a runway 05 departure to Lisbon with Dutch Transavia B738 PH-HZL arriving from Amsterdam (AMS), on the back, in runway 23.

Hoje dei um salto ao aeroporto para apanhar o meu primeiro Easyjet com sharklets...estava complicado...(e  então para os passageiros....essas ficam para depois) mas, acabei por fazer as fotos que considero mais interessantes ao velhinho Fokker 100 da PGA... A pista em uso era a 23, que à tarde dá sempre umas perspectivas interessantes... CS-TPF na final curta para a pista 23 Já no regresso, o taxi para a 23, passando por trás do A320 da Condor que entretanto havia chegado A descolagem no lugar certo....    Esta podia ter sido a tal...pena que acabei por cortar-lhe um pouco do leme de profundidade... a luz a fazer um interessante efeito de contraste e realce dos elementos da fuselagem e asas

Yesterday made a quick stop at the airport, around the arrival time of Transaero, expecting to make a few shots of this Russian... Noticing that it was a bit late and with the family in the car, made some consolation prize shots of PGA's CS-TPB that was arriving, before heading home.... Deploying speed brakes over runway's 05 treshold curiously the same registration I had caught before, this year... all out for a stop...

Pois é...por incrível que possa parecer, os primeiros "bonecos" de um Fokker 100 da PGA, deste ano, são do mês passado.... Fica um par de fotos da aterragem do CS-TPB na 05, ao final da tarde... Smoke on!

Last monday, went, for the first time on these vacations, to the airport for an afternoon of spotting. Lucky me, runway 23 was in use so, decided to try out a few diferent spots for the take-offs. The best framings didn't turn out as good as I wanted (out of focus and some heat haze) but still, these points turned out to be some good locations, to explore further more... My favorite of the day...PGA's Foker 100 CS-TPC climbing out from runway 23, to Lisbon (LIS/LPPT) One of the targets of the day...it's been a long time since I last had photographed a Luxair and I really do like its livery... LX-LGQ landing on 23 and the take off...too bad the best framing pics, with the airport in the back turned out too crappy... Very early take off for Easyjet's  G-EZIO, photographed from the most usual spotting point... Another of my favorite pics of the day...
