Memories of 2007 LPMA

Imagem
Was cheking some info on Sunclass planes and remembered to go back in time on my archives, to check some of Sunclass "grandpa" MyTravel shots I had taken... An interesting one, back from February 2007...MyTravel A320 OY-VKS arriving at the stand with a couple First Choice Airways (gone into Thomson Airways and now TUI Airways), another MyTravel, an Austrian (also gone...) and TAP's A320 CS-TNG (stored since December 2020...) Also, the handling company that is working on the FCA (TRIAM) is also gone... Things do change a lot in time and now more than ever on these last years, things are due to change...let's hope for the best for all the people and companies related with aviation and traveling...

New Photo of the Week: old history...

Imagem
In time that local spotters are now looking forward to get Thomson Airways new livery nothing like remembering a bit of history on this airline... Remember the time when First Choice and Thomson were diferent airlines and A320 were still on their service?... G-OOPX taking off from runway 23

Spoillers, reverses and smoke on...

Today, got accepted at Airliners a couple of pics and one of them is really nice... Allways had a preference for action shots and also allways prefered the aviation photography rather than the video precisely because this kind of shot where you can freeze some nice details of aircraft operations... G-OOAR , A320 from First Choice ( Thomson Airways) just landed, with spoillers and reverse on  and on the right moment to get the litle smoky touch of the front wheel... Actually, really enjoy the pics I've taken of this plane....check the airliners published pics   HERE

Nov.9th - New Colors, Winglets and others...

On this Monday wasn't feeling much in the mood for going to the airport but then I noticed that one of the Thomson flights from Manchester was beeing made by G-OOBA, which had changed very recently its colors from the First Choice livery for the Thomson and also had gained winglets. The Cimber Sterling flight was also beeing made by the OY-MRG, with new livery, so decided to go to the airport. Despite beeing sunny at Funchal, the weather at Santa Cruz was quite crappy, cloudy and with light rain... Anyway, the pics... This Thomson, like I said, was the star of the morning but it still is a bit disapointing, until now I was expecting that Thomson Airways got some really nice and different livery but looks like it's confirmed they'll keep TUI's "boring blue"... The winglets look real nice on the plane, though... and the colors are quite darker than the ones in use by the "old" planes. This was the other nice catch of the day. Love this livery,...

27.Apr.09 - Axis by Neos and others

Imagem
On this morning, the highlights were the two Axis flights and the Viking. Still this wasn't yet the day that we had Axis new livery around here. Instead I got surprised with a NEOS making the second Axis flight. Also, another point of interest was the Viking that have been bringing diferent registrations on every week since it restarted flying to Madeira. This Thomson had the "fly.com" from the titles gone (begining of the change to Thomson Airways?) Weather didn't help, as it was too unstable with areas with sun and others with no sun...I don't know about really skilled photographers but, for me its gets real hard for getting good results with that kind of changes...specially because when photographing a plane coming real fast on final you don't get much time for changing settings... I guess the second shot of this Thomson was the best of the day for me. It turned out really sharp and clear with the sun on the right place and the heat from the jetblast gi...
