Photo of the Week: First Vueling at Porto Santo

Imagem
From August a sequence on the first Vueling at Porto Santo. A320 EC-MAH was coming from Barcelona to Madeira but due to the winds out of limits, had to divert to the neighbour island. landing on runway 36 taxiing to the apron joining the TAP (A319 CS-TTI) and Binter (ATR-72 EC-LAD) that were already there

Divergidos no Porto Santo

Photo of the Week: Transaero by night

Imagem
Last Friday, Transaero flight UN9121, from Moscow arrived with a 6 hour delay... Instead of arriving in the afternoon, it arrived around mid-night. It was a nice oportunity for some night-shots of something different, so, some of the guys gathered at the airport's terminal balcony for some shots... Tryed something diferent for the arrival of Transaero's B738 EI-EEA all the fuss around a plane is even more interesting to photograph in the night... In the back, the arrival of TAP's A319, CS-TTI  And another angle for the arrival of the surprise of the night (for me) TAP's new plane CS-TNW, an A320 named after "José Saramago", the Portuguese Writer awarded with the Writers Nobel. For the departure, we decided to try out a diferent spot that would be Great! (Either great shot, or great crap...unfortunately, they lined up and took off without stopping so, great crap....)

A couple of nationals

Despite the interesting stuff from last spotting session, TAP planes, even if more usual, weren't forgotten... So, a couple of shots to CS-TTR and CS-TTI, TAP's A319 CS-TTR taking off from runway 23 CS-TTI arriving at the stand

US Navy and XL colors

Last Tuesday ( 19th May ) we had a couple of very rare movements around here. The first was a C40 (B737) from US Navy. Military planes are rare around here, specially US ones so, although this hadn't many differences form any B737 civil airliners, it's allways an interesting catch. Its presence had probably something to do with the scale of USS Nashville at Funchal Port. Went for the afternoon traffic and as I arrived it was getting ready to leave. What a luck. Anyway, its departure was quite delayed as they realised upon cleared for push-back that they had no push-back tow.... I'm guessing that someone forgot to contract one... Finally, after almost 45minuts, they managed to get a tow for the job and linned up on runway 05: Although it has winglets now, the US flag and "United States Navy" were removed, so the plane is visually less actractive... You could notice in the comunications that the crews wasn't used to navigate around here, as they were carefully (...
