This week, we got some losses...(aviation related...): The shutting of Great Dane Airlines.... (Embraer 190LR OY-GDA at Madeira, in March 2020. Check more Great Dane pics, HERE ) The last Tui Airways flight with the B757... (B757 G-OOBD landing at Porto Santo (PXO/LPPS), with Thomson titles, back in September 2014) and the last flight of Alitalia (now being replaced by ITA Airways as the new flag carrier)... (A320 EI-IKL at Barcelona, back in 2019)

Level at Barcelona

Imagem
From last summer, the first time I got this airline... Level, styled as LEVEL, is an airline brand under which three European airlines owned by the International Airlines Group (IAG) operate low-cost flights. Not the greatest pic but counts for the personal record... A321 OE-LCN getting ready to push-back, at Barcelona. This plane was previously operated by Niki and Air Berlin (and also a few others...) A shot taken at Madeira, with Air Berlin colors, as D-ABCN:

New Photo of the Week: The Brazilian Qatar

Allways great to be head to head with a bird like this... Love the front and wings of the A350 (not much the tail...)...nothing to do with quality or efficiency...just a personal taste on looks... As I as making some time for my flight, noticed this was getting ready for the departure...decided to ignore the other traffic and stayed at the window for this one... A7-AMA ready to push back LATAM livery on a Qatar plane...first time I noticed this...

Alitalia at Vueling land...

Imagem
Alitalia A320 EI-IKL pushing back with a Vueling A320 departing, on the back As usual, the only spotting I make outside is on arrival or while waiting for my flight...sorry the hard-core spottters but, so much to see and do when out of this small island...planes aren't really my priority when on vacation... Despite the huge amount of traffic, Vueling really stands out at El Prat for the quantity... Had my eye on a LATAM A350 ready for push-back but really wanted to get this Alitalia A320...got lucky enough to get it with a Vueling just airborn on the back....

Aegean colors at Madeira

Imagem
Last Friday, the Smartlynx flight brought us a surprise. The A320 that made the flight from/to Tallinn was made using YL-LCI, still with Aegean Airlines livery. Didn't manage to go to the airport but tought it was a good oportunity to share a couple of pics from, Barcelona where I caught this airline for the first (and only) time... Taken with a small Ixus, through the terminal windows, it gave me quite a work trying to remove that window color cast... SX-DVZ at the stand Taxiing...a little bit more colorfull than the one that was at Madeira.

Air Baltic

Imagem
There are some airlines that really don't have anything with a special meaning to you...not even the livery but you allways like to photograph it once, just for the record... Air Baltic is one of those...still, that green tail looks rather nice... Air Baltic's YL-BBK

Bae146

Imagem
The previous post about the Do.328 reminded me of another plane that looks rather similar to the Dornier. It was a plane I wanted to photograph or even just see live for a long time. This Summer, had the oportunity to see and photograph 2 of them at once...the Jumbolino (Bae146) The photo was taken trough the terminal window at distance with a small Ixus, so no quality winning prizes, but it's well worth for the entry on the colection. Curiously the one in front is from Brussels Airlines, and for that, this post has to be dedicated to Capt. João Vidal that seated on the left seat of those planes in that airline for quite a few years. It was also in one of those planes that he completed the 20.000 flight hours ...quite a mark!

US Airways

Imagem
Just today I was talking with a guy about the US Airways that went into the Hudson, yearlier this year and so, decided to post this one, it was the first and only time I photographed a US Airways plane...

First time Embraer

Imagem
Time to start posting again... These day's of vacations were really great. Regarding aviation...spotted lots of different traffic but with a point and shoot didn't photographed many (and also just when waiting at the airports) nor the pics are of great quality, anyway they're pretty good, just for the record. Also, it was the first time I flew the Embraer (ERJ-145)... Nice little jet on a very steady flight with only a few shakes on short final... A little noisy on the back were I was (but not too noisy) and no LCD's...
