Planes and stuff

Yesterday the aviation world celebrated 50 years since the first flight of the Boeing 747 so, I guess that the best pic of the Week for this Weekend if one from the first (and only...) time we had the 747 at Madeira Airport, in 2002 for the inauguration of the new terminal.... Air Atlanta's B742 TF-ABA was the first and only B747 at Madeira...nearby Air Luxor (already gone) and TAP with the old livery... Despite the quality, true history and, for me...one of my most valuable photos... This plane was scrapped in 2007...

Sometimes, no matter how many heavies you have around, the smaller birds are the ones that caught your attention... The Dornier 328 is a very rare bird around here. The airlines (which I had never heard before) colors are also quite nice, so it immediately called my attention... (still, was nice to have a 747F on the back... :)  ) Pic taken trough the glass.... According to their page, they have 3 of these and another 3 Saab 2000

When you get a bird like this, it's got to be photo of the week, even if the quality isn't the best... Shot from my hotel window, through the city buildings at a distance of around 1,5km just after realising in FR24 that it was on final...it's definitely a great catch, specially because we don't get these at Madeira. EC-MDS on final, replacing the usual Evelop A330 that, according to another spotter, had a bird strike.

Ainda em ritmo de férias, está custando voltar a colocar as publicações do blog em modo regular, apesar de tudo, cá fica mais uma pequena entrada relativa a um par de movimentos que tive oportunidade de apanhar recentemente na capital (Lisboa, LIS/LPPT/) Para muitos não serão nada de especial mas, o TAAG, com as suas belas cores (e o facto de ser um 777, 300 ainda por cima...) era algo que já me vinha a escapar desde os tempos do 747, uma vez que por diversas passagens em Lisboa tinha oportunidade de vê-los às distância e normalmente com toda a aparelhagem do handling em volta, sem grandes hipóteses de obter fotos limpas... Desta vez e apesar do vidro do terminal e de alguma distância, apanhei-o menos mal, precisamente na altura em que fazia o push-back... D2-TEH, o mais recente dos 777 da TAAG e um dos 2 aparelhos da versão 300 à sua frente ainda outro extra...um Jumbo que, apesar de ser um completo frigorífico, continua a ser um belo avião de se ver e muito raro em fren...

Alguns spotters regionais estiveram este fim-de-semana a spottar na capital, Lisboa (LIS/LPPT). O movimento mais interessante que fotografaram terá sido o "novo" (ex-Air France) 343 das Aerolíneas Argentinas (ver AQUI  e AQUI ) F-GNIH (futuro LV-CSX). Realmente aquela pintura está fantástica e de longe muito melhor que a anterior, que tive oportunidade de fotografar em Madrid-Barajas, em 2005. LV-OEP, Boeing 747-200 LV-MLR e LV-OEP
