Planes and stuff

 Air Baltic A220 YL-ABX, special livery, arriving at runway 05, from Riga. Despite beeing one of the most beautifull liveries around, it's the only one they have brought to Madeira so, for a change they should try to bring another one...pretty sure they would get a lot more attention and marketing feedback...

A couple more shots from Venice - Marco Polo Air France is definitely a usual (or even rare...) bird at Madeira so, it's allways a nice catch, specially with the Laguna background and an Air Baltic A220 on the back . A320 F-GKXR with Air Baltic A220 YL-ABS, arriving, on the back...

Last sunday we had the first flight of Smartwings (CSA livery) A220 at Madeira. On a flight from Prague, and with quite a crappy weather at the airport, OK-EYB made the first flight to Madeira (from Prague or, by the way, from anywhere else, as Smartwings, CSA colors or...any of these. with the A220) With that kind of weather not much interest in getting the arrival so, a couple of shots on the taxi for the departure back to Prague:

 For me, ITA Airways livery is one the amazing liveries that we don't have at Madeira... Adding to that, getting it on an A220 makes it really nice...love that plane aesthetic... I-ADVH, taxiing to the runway, in Venice / Tessera Marco Polo Airport  

Once more, another shot of another day of Air Baltic Baltic Heritage special livery . With runway 23 in use, was only able to get the final part of the landing and taxi to the stand so, decided to try a diferent shot of this beautiful A220 special livery... On the stand with Eurowings A320 D-AEWV departing on the back, to Dusseldorf...

  After a whole winter season, finally Air Baltic brought us a special livery. YL-ABX,  the most recent special livery, celebrating its 50th A220 and a stunning one... Unfortunatelly, wasn't able to get the arrival With a variable wind, was hoping for a runway 23 departure which would make the shots a lot more interesting but, it was 05...anyway, got it! Last Air Baltic flight will be on March, 28th so, there's still time for a few more special liveries or another flight with this one ;) A random selection of shots of the push-back and taxi... If TAP had the A220 this could almost be the look of it, on this perspective.... :) 

 As much as I like the A220 with the Air Baltic livery...it's about time they bring to Madeira one of its special liveries....... Anyway, YL-ABV arriving at Madeira's runway 05, from Riga...

For the first post (and photos) of the year, a first.... The first time I got Air Baltic at night (also believe it was the first time they flew here during the night but, not sure on that...their flights arrive at Madeira in the morning...) Unfortunally we're still waiting for one of its special liveries... A220 YL-ABT about to start the push-back, for the return flight to Riga... finishing the push-back...runway in use, 23... An extra...on a night-stop, an hybrid: Air Horizont with Air Seven livery, B734 9H-TIA..too bad about the stairs in front... The only other time I got an A220 during the night was back in 2022, with Swiss A220 HB-JCB ( HERE )

With 3 weekly flight from Riga, still no signs of any of their special liveries, around here.... Still, it's allways nice to catch an A220 around here. Also first pics I got of Air Baltic with runway 23 in use... YL-ABU arriving from Riga Departure back to Riga, also from runway 23

 Air Baltic made its first flight to Madeira yesterday. It was quite dificult to make its firs landing at Madeira as it was one of those out of limits winds days... Good for me :) It should have arrived form Riga during the morning, when I couldn't be at the airport but due to the winds it diverted to Las Palmas and only came to Madeira during the afternoon...even then, it didn't land at the first atempt, with a go-around in the begining of long final... Finally it managed to land after another go to the IAP and full approach... A220-300 YL-ABU, on 05... It's been quite a long time I wanted to see this one around here, specially with the beautiful A220 A part of the apron during the last sunlight, with BA, TUI UK and Condor A321NEO Condor A321NEO D-ANMX and YL-ABU...quite a lot of green :) And a shot on the go-around of the afternoon...

 Today made my first spotting of the year. On arrival, the weather was cloudy and quite dark but then, it started opening the blue sky and still managed some shots with some really nice light... Swiss A220 HB-JCT, from Geneve was the last plane of the day for me, with the very last sun rays just before goiing behind the mountains... Really love the A220 and it looks quite nice on the Swiss livery... Taxiing to the gate, by WizzAir A321 HA-LZJ getting ready for the return to KTW/EPKT - Katowice Airport

From the same night of Swiss A220 HB-JCB (check HERE ), a 2 in 1 catch... Unusual oportunity for some night shots on the daily cargo Swiftair ATR-72, as its usualy a morning operation, with arrival just before lunch... Don't really know why EC-MIY was still here (looks like it departed to Lisbon a few hours later) but it was quite a nice oportunity, even if it was still stoped at the stand... To add a little bit of color and movement, long-exposure of Swiss A220 HB-JCB departing to Geneva, from runway 05, in the back.

Finally made some shots I wanted to do for some time...Swiss A220/CS by night... With the winter time change and also the change on the schedulle of Tuesday's Swiss flight from morning to the afternoon, it was finally time to try some of these shots....  A220 HB-JCB pushing back for the return flight to GVA/LSGG Geneva... Finishing the push, with the cabin lights still on... And another shot just before the taxi...

Currently with 2 weekly flights, today was the first time I went for some morning shots of the Swiss A220 arriving from Geneve. Unfortunatelly, quite dark on the arrival...still managed some sunny shots while it was on the ramp, but couldn't manage to stay for the departure.... Love the C Series/A220 cockpit windows....with some nice reflections, it's easy to guess the handling company :)  HB-JCB
