Planes and stuff

Decorre actualmente o exercício de Forças de Operações Especiais SOFEC19 na Madeira. É a primeira edição deste exercício, organizado por Portugal e tive oportunidade de fazer um pequeno trabalho para o Gnose sobre o mesmo. Por aqui ficam algumas fotos obtidas aquando da pequena sessão feita para Comunicação Social, nas ruínas do antigo complexo da Matur, o artigo está disponível no Gnose, AQUI . Decorrerá durante a próxima semana, um exercício de Forças Especiais na Madeira e Porto Santo...algo de pouco comum por estes lados... Entretanto, na passada quinta-feira, à conta disso, a Esquadra 502 fez alguns voos extraordinários para a Madeira, com os seus C-295...spotter de preferência militar em terra de civis, como eu, não podia deixar de eleger uma dessas fotos, as primeiras deste ano que publico dos C-295, como foto da semana.... 16706 descolando da 05, em direcção do continente... Bom exercício a todos...

British Airways A320's are one of those planes that allways perform some very nice (and powerfull) take-offs... Yesterday, with the wind blowing expected them to make one of those...the take-off ended up not beeing as early as I expected but still in a nice place for some shots...(and way better than the next A320, from Condor that made quite late departure...) Up and away with a bit of the old runway 24 still visible down... with Ponta de S.Lourenço ahead... G-GATS

Niki Lauda died yesterday... I guess no presentations are needed for the amazing man... The only of its airlines that hasn't (still) been around here was the most recent Lauda Motion... A few shots to remember... Lauda Air B737 OE-LNO, back in 2004 One of the few airlines that ever flew the Embraer to Madeira...Embraer ERJ-190LR OE-IHD (a registration now used by one of Lauda Motion's A320...This Embraer is now flying as HB-JVL at Helvetic) A321 OE-LES, June 2016 A320 OE-LER, April 2013

TUI Nederland has been using for many flights other planes, including its sister company TUI Belgium... On this day, the AMS-FNC-AMS flight was made with TUI Belgium B738 OO-JBG with a very nice captain...as he was taxiing we noticed the open window as he was already waving to the spotters :) Hope you had a great flight back! Holding off runway 05 while other traffic takes off (notice the taking off plane?)

Smartwings Slovakia B738 OM-TSG From the same day of Brussels Airlines Bruegel special livery (check HERE ) decided to go to the runway 23 area for the take-off of this Smartwings...the winds were strange and the plane should be heavy so, guessed it would make a longe take-off...wasn't wrong :)

My first pics on Brussels new special livery...Bruegel..and it looks great! Glad the sun was shining! On the left seat, the captain with more spotter fans around here :) Allways nice to see you around, specially on these kind of birds :) A great take off, from runway 23, back to Brussels We climbing to the cargo bay of a driving lesson truck due to the fence but as the plane was starting the take-off run, a driving instructor passed by and told us to get donw...though that the take-off was lost but still managed to get  another spot...it wasn't as high and as good but still...got the "job" done... Earlier...the arrival on runway 05, notice the wind indicator? A catch on the other side, which also looks really nice.

An afternoon departure of Binter's ATR-72 EC-KYI from runway 23 to Porto Santo... Too bad this was the only runway 23 departure we got, just before the wind changed to runway 05...

B752 G-LSAN touching down runway 05, from Manchester It's been quite a while since I last got a Jet2 B752...got this one while waiting for the departure of Ukraine Air Alliance An-12 UR-CAK which ended up not departing once more....they really must be enjoying our island....

Former Niki OE-LNZ at Madeira, now with Condor colors, since May 2018, and registered as D-ATCE landing on runway 23. Allways nice to get these landing with that background... and a lucky shot with the beacons just before shutdown... meanwhile, the runway changed for the departure, which was made from runway 05... departing back to Dusseldorf with a couple of Tuifly B738 (D-ATYA and D-AHLK) and an Easyjet Swiss A320 HB-JZY
