Imagem
Another batch of pics from the day of the visit of the Portugal Spotters at Madeira: The arrival and departure of Travel Service B738 OK-TVS... landing on runway 05 tails on the apron, not as blue as it used to be on monday mornings--- Meanwhile, the runway changed and the take-off was from runway 23

MAX e outra aviação/spotting no Gnose

Imagem

Photo of the week: Tails

Imagem
It's allways nice to see a full (or almost) with some variety of planes and airlines... I guess mondays are still the days of the week with most traffic at Madeira and if the variety of types isn't that much (Airbus medium haul rulling..)  the mix of tails isn't that bad (as for the fuselages, white is winning for a long distance) The Lufthansa plane is not a regular on mondays..the 2 weekly flights are made on Saturdays but due to the Leslie storm, those flights were changed to monday.

Transavia

Imagem
From the same day of the "Cock" livery (check HERE ), Transavia's B738 PH-HSM on short final to runway 05, from Amsterdam

Mickey :)

Imagem

Germania to scrap

Imagem
Looks like Germania's B737 D-AGEU (and D-AGEQ) have been ferried to Erfurt-Weimar Airport (ERF-EGBP)  for part-out & scrap... Gave a review to my records and it seems like this was the only time I got D-AGEU (and no records on AGEQ)... D-AGEU on a windy short final to runway 05, back in 2005 Still, Airfleets site only give it as stored (D-AGEU) and beeing a plane with "only" 20 years, I wonder if it won't get a second life with some other airline....

Photo of the Week: Thomas Cook Special from Manchester

Imagem
Long time waited, finally got, this week, the Thomas Cook "I Love Cook's Club" special livery. With the sun coming on and off, was lucky enought to make a few shots with a bit of sun shinning on the plane while on short final to runway 05, from Manchester. A321 G-TCDV...the main color reminds me of a plane still on primary, but it looks nice. Taxiing to runway 05, on the flight back to Manchester

Sunsetting on the Alouette III

Imagem
Despite beeing an already known decision, Leonardo has announced the Portuguese Air Force order of 5 AW119 Koala  (with an option for plus 2) to replace the good old Alouette III (check HERE ) The first units should be already delivered this year .... With 55 years duty on the Portuguese Air Force, the remaining 6 (?) helicopters have seen a lot during all these years, from the war in Africa, and since then all the other missions in Portugal, instruction, SAR, surveillance, etc.... Maybe the sun is setting on them but, for now, I'm sure they'll still have some more to give...

Jet2

Imagem
It's been quite a longe time since I last got some nice pic's on a regular Jet2 livery. Really nice to see that some airlines are keeping more original liveries than the regular eurowhite ... B738 G-JZBL about to land on runway 05, a plane delivered this year  And a couple of shots of the departure.... taxiing to runway 05... passing taxiway "charlie"

Edelweiss at Op. Bird of Paradise

Imagem
Yesterday, on an October tradition, a group of spotters from the mainland paid us a visit at Madeira for some spotting and gathering. Joined them during the morning for some shots and socializing, before heading to work. Was hoping to get the arrival of Edelweiss but didn't managed to do so... A few shots of the departure then... head to head with A320 HB-JIW Like I mentioned a few times...one of my favorite liveries... a friendly captain... departure to Zurich, with some of the Portugal Spotters making the shots...not an usual at Lisbon so, it was a nice bird for them to get...

Foto da Semana: Despedida ao CS-TGV

Imagem

First Choice

Imagem
Back to 2005, a pic I still hadn't processed... First Choice B752 G- OOBE taxiing to runay 05 with another gone in the back, a My Travel plane (became Thomas Cook Scandinavia)... A plane from 2003, despite working for the same guys all these years, knew quite a few names and liveries... Started on Air 2000 in 2003 which was renamed to First Choice Airways later that year. With the merging with Thomson, it became Thomson Airways, beeing renamed, last year, to TUI Airways.... :)

C Seri....err... Airbus A220-300

Imagem
Another shot from Zurich with another of the former C Series, from Swiss. The now Airbus A220-300 HB-JCH taxiing to the runway with a couple of the more comon airlines here on the back, Edelweiss and Swiss

Photo of the Week: Memory on the Smartwings

Imagem
Back to 2011, remembering Smartwings older livery and planes..back when they had the B735 (which wasn't a very common type of 737 at Madeira) OK-SWU departing from Madeira's runway 05 13.Jun.2011...the plane was stored later that year...

Binter to Porto Santo

Imagem
Currently, Binter is carrying the Madeira - Porto Santo - Madeira flights. Getting the airline's ATR's at Madeira is common but getting a runway 36 landing is more rare for me so, went for an afternoon landing on one of the days I was there... EC-KSG on final to runway 36

Another one gone: Primera Air

Imagem
Looks like Primera Air will also shut down as from tonight... Not the biggest visitor around but still, a regular one at Madeira skies...whish all the best for the employees and their families... Check the Cease Operations info HERE B737 YL-PSB taxiing through "Bravo", at Madeira, to runway 23, back in 2015 Check a few more Primera/JetX pic's, HERE
