SP-ENL, one of the 2 Enter Air's I got that morning... Still haven't managed to get its special livery... emtering the apron after  landing on runway 23 the take-off, from runway 23, back to Madrid..

Time for a new photo of the week...almost at the end of summers season (probably not long for this one to return to Canada) finally managed to make a few shots on this great livery. Leased to Sunwing Airlines by TUI Nederlands, B738 C-FDBD is carrying the Sunny Cars livery, which looks really nice and colorful. Allways a great catch! A Merlin helicopter was the first aircraft to land (September, 23rd) at the new HMS Prince of Wales carrier which is currently on the first phase of sea trials. Back a couple of weeks, from a windy day, a bumpy approach for the Binter ATR-72 EC-JQL... still...a soft landing..

As already expected, Thomas Cook went down...unfurtunatelly they didn't managed to get the required funding and shut down the operations... Regarding the airlines of the group, Thomas Cook UK was also shutdown and Thomas Cook Scandinavia has suspended operations...some still say there's a probability that the Scandinavian airline will resume activity...I guess we'll have to wait and see... Condor, a major airline flying to Madeira, for now as kept flying, and annouced it was seeking a government-backed bridging loan to preserve liquidity after the collapse of associated tour operator Thomas Cook...let's hope that works out... Allways great to see some special liveries! Not many coming to Madeira these days. For TUI Belgium's B738 with the Family Life livery (OO-JAF) decided to go to a spot where I hadn't been for quite a while...turned out the right choice, as it took off right in front of me, back to Brussels OO-JAF rotating...

Looks like XL France is going the same way as Aigle Azur...check HERE As far as I could find, only got a couple of their flights at Madeira back in 2013...opposite to XL Airways (UK), the German and French were quite rare around here... B738 F-HJER, final to runway 05, on a dull day....

For a bit of a change on the spotting style, which is usually focused on the planes only, a wider view of Easyet A320 OE-IJJ departing back to Porto from runway 23, with TAP A321NEO CS-TJI finishing the push-back, for the same runway.

Hoje foi uma manhã bem variada, em temos de spotting: navios, aviões e ...finalmente, desde que o helicóptero está na Madeira, para a actual época de combate a incêndios florestais, dei um salto à sede do Serviço Regional de Protecção Civil. onde está baseado o helicóptero que este ano está cá destacado para o combate a incêndios...o CS-HGZ, um Eurocopter AS 350B-3 Ecureuil da Helibravo, empresa que já operou por cá o Robinson R44 CS-HEU 3 registos obtidos, na altura em que o técnico de manutenção preparava o aparelho para o dia, após o descanso noturno... Acabou por ser na altura certa já que, depois, colocou uma proteção no pára-brisas. tapando por completo a zona...

A 1/30 panning of Easyjet A319 OE-LKG departing from runway 05

Nos últimos dias a zona do Aeroporto tem tido algum vento, que não tendo provocado grandes crises, tem, ainda assim, motivado alguns voos divergidos ou algumas aterragens mais animadas... Até agora ainda não tinha apanhado o CS-TMW o primeiro TAP a ser "retrofited" com sharklets com sol...era sempre com tempo escuro e fotos pouco interessantes...ontem lá o apanhei finalmente com sol e alguma animação à mistura... :) Quando cheguei ao aeroporto, um outro voo TAP estava precisamente a borregar (aterrou à segunda tentativa), estava a ver que ia acontecer o mesmo a este...parabéns ao Cmdt. pelas mãozinhas... na final curta já vinha a torcer-se para a direita e sobre a pista ainda piorou... lá foi endireitado mas acabou por inclinar-se para o outro lado... após dose de mãozinhas (e pézinhos...) lá acabou por aterrar já mais à frente... chegada ao stand, junto de outro companheiro que também cancelou alguns voos esta semana, não pelo vento mas devido à greve das

B7373 SF EC-KLR da Swiftair na Madeira, em 2010 De regresso ao baú, e às fotos ainda não publicadas, fica um registo de 2010, altura em que ainda tínhamos 737 a fazer os voos de carga entre Lisboa e a Madeira. Actualmente, esses voos são igualmente feitos pela Swiftair, utilizando aparelhos ATR-42, operando para a MAIS (Madeira Air Integrated Solutions) Em 2010, penso que os voos Swiftair seriam efectuados para a Agroar mas, posso estar enganado

Depois de quase um mês sem pôr os pés no aeroporto, lá passei por lá hoje à tarde e comecei a sessão logo da melhor maneira (o passageiro certamente não concordaria comigo mas, espero que não fosse nada realmente grave...votos de melhoras rápidas...) O C-295 da Esquadra 502 actualmente destacado no AM3 - Porto Santo, é o 16709, um dos VIMAR, e o primeiro movimento foi precisamente a chegada desse aparelho, com uma MEDEVAC, do Porto Santo.... Chegada, pela 05 ...com os Bombeiros de Santa Cruz a aguardar o evacuado taxiando para a 05...  Infelizmente, o sol escondeu-se para a descolagem....

In lack of spotting sessions recently, went for my archives to check for unpublished pics...find a few ones from November, 9th 2015...these couple of ones called my attention...after all you can't get these anymore.... Monarch's A321 G-MARA, landing on runway 05, by the end of the afternoon....
