Photo of the Week: Tuifly Robinson

From last weekend, the first time I got D-ATUI (Tuifly Robinson) landing on runway 23...
(actually, first time I got the Robinson flying at all....)

With a very nice afternoon light, it's allways a pleasure to get those landings...

The Swedish German

Still with Tui older colors, this B738 deserved a second look as its registration wasn't familiar to me...
After a more carefull look, noticed some signs that looked familiar...

D-ATYC landing on runway 05

pushing back for the return flight.
Near the door the "shadow" of a removed sticker...looked like it was a former Tui Nordic plane, as they used those litle mascot stickers

also on the back, quite visible the painted area of the new registration/flag
It was former SE-RFU.
According to Airfleets, it's been at Tuifly since May 2017...

Hell..that's a long time...Hadn't noticed this change before...have to start getting some more Tuifly's, even with the boring blue :)

First Smartinwgs B737MAX and more...

Last Tuesday we got the info that something unusual could came for some training so, as I had the time, went to the airport to try my luck.
Wouldn't be a missed trip anyway as I still hadn't got any Smartwings and Norwegian B737MAX nor had got any Novair this season....

The expected traffic for the training didn't came after all and the weather/light wasn't that good, specially near the lunch time but tryed to get some decend pics for the record...
Unfortunatelly...Norwegian decided not to bring the MAX on that day so, still missing that one...

Anyway, one can notice the renewall of the fleets as, from the traffic I got that morning, many were NEO or MAX...

Smartwings OK-SWF arriving from Warsow

Novair A321NEO SE-RKB, arriving from Gothenburg

This season, Novair has been coming with both A321NEO's,
Recently, the other A321NEO (SE-RKA) had an incident ..Check HERE
So, I guess we won't be seeing it around here anytime soon...this SmartLynx A321 (LY-LCV) made the flight from Stockholm Arlanda

Thomas Cook A321 OK-VKD, arriving also from  Stockholm Arlanda with the fight against cancer symbol near the titles

Scandinavian

Thomas Cook Scandinavia OY-VKB and Cimber OY-MRG
Back to 2010, a pic I hadn't published yet, with a couple of Scandinavian planes:
Thomas Cook Scandinavia A321 OY-VKB and Cimber Sterling B738 OY-MRG taxiiing on the back,

Loved the Cimber Sterling livery with that retro look...unfortunatelly, was another one that went down a couple of years after this shot, in 2012.

OY-MRG is currently flying with Southwest Airlines as N7836A

Photo of the Week: Farewell to Germania

Tonight, Germania Airlines has seen its AOC canceled by LBA (German Civil Aviation Authorities), with all operations shut...
(This does not affect the Swiss branch)

Unfortunatelly it was not unexpected, due to all the financial struggle of the last weeks...with seven weekly flights to Madeira, it's quite a knock into Madeira's german tourism market...
Also, this was the airline performing the Jersey flights (where there's a big Madeirean community ...)

So, Photo of the Week is dedicated to Germania, with some previously unpublished pics of the last time I had the oportunity to spot their planes...6th January 2019

Wish all the best to all Germania personnel on their next step.

Special livery D-AGER was also present...(check the pics HERE)
The airline did not survive the plane indeed...
You can check more Germania pics HERE

The spirit of Air Berlin

Back in October 2017, when we said farewell to Air Berlin after its bankruptcy, didn't think I'd still be seeing planes flying in its colors in 2019...

Still, the German airlines that received their planes don't seem too eager to wipe out the Air Berlin livery...

Photo of the Week: Germania special

According to some info, D-AGER, carrying the airline's 30th Aniversary special livery, is to be stored / scrapped in March, still, the year began with financial dificulties for Germania and for a moment it seemed like the plane would last the airline.

Fortunately, it looks like they managed to secure the necessary financing to keep on, although some changes are to be made regarding the management and operacions...let's hope it works for a long time more.
Check the latest news regarding that matter, HERE

A319 D-ASTJ and D-AGER...
Germania is a regular presence at Madeira with a few weekly flights from various origins
A shot that's an exemple on the fleet change as the B737 are leaving the fleet towards an Airbus fleet, which should receive some NEO's in a close future.

Norwegian

Yesterday gathered with a group of friends for some pics, talking and lunch. Great day!
In the morning was going anyway to the airport, as the Norwegian from Copenhagen was bringing a special visitor :)

Hope you had a great flight! Some pics of the arrival!
Enjoy the stay!

Customizable Norwegian

From before Christmas, a sequence on the landing of Norwegian B738 LN-NHE on runway 23 with a white tail...a good oportunity to costumize it on photoshop... :P
Maybe some other day...for now, the shots...

Made some nice smoke on the landing...unfortunatelly...made some light pole spotting on that shot... :P

Photo of the Week: Lucky Shot

Transavia France F-HTVF

From the same day of TAP's A330 and the Portuguese President Falcon (more on those later...) the final shot of the day...

Was already dark and with no tripod, the guys were fooling around on the competition for the worst pic of the day :)
Took plenty of great candidats to the worst one but on this shot was lucky enough to get it fucused and with the beacon...

Vinci Airports Spotters Day 2018 - Madeira (FNC/LPMA)

Na manhã do passado Sábado, a Vinci Airports organizou a I Edição do Vinci Airports Spotters Day.

Photo of the Week: Transavia from 23

Back from February, a shot I hadn't published previously...
Transavia France B738 F-HTVC departing from runway 23
This shot comes in sequence with another batch of pics that I had already published (check HERE) but, this one was left untouched for later processing and publishing (like today) as it's my kind of favorite pics and allways worth (for me, at least) remembering...

MAX e outra aviação/spotting no Gnose

Germania to scrap

Looks like Germania's B737 D-AGEU (and D-AGEQ) have been ferried to Erfurt-Weimar Airport (ERF-EGBP)  for part-out & scrap...

Gave a review to my records and it seems like this was the only time I got D-AGEU (and no records on AGEQ)...
D-AGEU on a windy short final to runway 05, back in 2005
Still, Airfleets site only give it as stored (D-AGEU) and beeing a plane with "only" 20 years, I wonder if it won't get a second life with some other airline....

Jet2

It's been quite a longe time since I last got some nice pic's on a regular Jet2 livery.
Really nice to see that some airlines are keeping more original liveries than the regular eurowhite ...
