Thomson at Porto Santo

This year Porto Santo had one of the most  (if not the most) interesting summers of all times, regarding air traffic.
Travel groups discovered that nice and relaxing island and many (considering the usual traffic) charters were schedulled for the summer.

Unfortunatelly, regarding the spotting, that brought me very little new stuff as almost all the flights were made by airlines that also come to Madeira: Thomson Airways, Transavia France, Jetairfly and Travel Service (this last one usually with a registration that doesn't come to Madeira) and the nationals Sata and TAP (also PGA, that allowed me to get a night shot of the ERJ-145....) and White.

Even though had already pics of those airlines, didn't have any pic of the foreign ones at Porto Santo so, tryed to get one flight of each...
One of the firsts was Thomson Airways with a B757 from London - Gatwick (LGW / EGKK)

Those winglets look rather nice on this angle...

Nov.9th - New Colors, Winglets and others...

On this Monday wasn't feeling much in the mood for going to the airport but then I noticed that one of the Thomson flights from Manchester was beeing made by G-OOBA, which had changed very recently its colors from the First Choice livery for the Thomson and also had gained winglets.

The Cimber Sterling flight was also beeing made by the OY-MRG, with new livery, so decided to go to the airport.
Despite beeing sunny at Funchal, the weather at Santa Cruz was quite crappy, cloudy and with light rain...

Anyway, the pics...
This Thomson, like I said, was the star of the morning but it still is a bit disapointing, until now I was expecting that Thomson Airways got some really nice and different livery but looks like it's confirmed they'll keep TUI's "boring blue"...
The winglets look real nice on the plane, though... and the colors are quite darker than the ones in use by the "old" planes.

This was the other nice catch of the day. Love this livery, here getting some crossed wind on short final...

The flag company, which isn't the most comon, on Mondays...

And another Thomson...(Thomson rules, on monday mornings, I only caught 2 of them....)

And a curious detail...I thook this pic just to be sure to get the registration and then I noticed that the "hunter" and a policeman were passing alongside the runway on their motoquad...although they are in safe zone, it sure seems like the wing of the Thomson will pass right over their head....

This Astreus/Palmair was the "excitement" of the morning...
It made a first approach that was rather strange, coming too high and not on the regular circuit.
Right after entering final it radioed a go-around...

As there was no traffic coming in, ATC allowed it to make a straight enter back in the circuit.
Once more it shortened the circuit, coming in a bit too high again...

 and entering final still turning...

At some moment it seemed like it would be another go-around but it managed....
