A320 D-AICA and a bunch of other Condor....

Thursdays are Condor strong day, at Madeira.
Today we got D-AICH, Condor's new plane with the retro livery...unfortunatelly, couldn't go to the airport so, a pic from last month, also from a Thursday with D-AICA, the plane that was previously carrying the retro livery and a few more of its airline buddies :)

That Transavia must be feeling lonely :)

Condor on 23

Former Niki OE-LNZ at Madeira, now with Condor colors, since May 2018, and registered as D-ATCE landing on runway 23.
Allways nice to get these landing with that background...

and a lucky shot with the beacons just before shutdown...

meanwhile, the runway changed for the departure, which was made from runway 05...

departing back to Dusseldorf with a couple of Tuifly B738 (D-ATYA and D-AHLK) and an Easyjet Swiss A320 HB-JZY

Condor retro back to normal

Looks like D-AICA, Condor's A320 carrying the retro livery was ferried this month back to the paint shop for a return to regular livery...

This is specially visible during summer season, when airlines try to get planes wherever they are to answer the high levels of demand...

From last week, a plane that really meets the "Global Inc." spirit, with a great looking mix :)
An hybrid, still with the livery of Libyan Afriqiyah Airways, with Small Planet titles, Lithuania registration, leased to a german airline (Condor)...

Back to last month, from the same day of Easyjet's Berlin livery (OE-IZQ, check HERE), the departure of Condor's A321 D-AIAD, from runway 23

Back to April, also on the day of Brussels Smurf (check HERE), Condor time...
Thursdays are usually a strong day's for the german airline with several planes trough the day...

On the afternoon, the departure of A321 D-AIAC, with its "brother" D-AIAH waiting of the runway and smaller A320 D-AICH on the apron, still with the older colors:

From the day we got Brussels Smurfs (check HERE), a shot that ilustrates how nice it is this spotting location.

The Spanish Thomas Cook

This summer season, Thomas Cook started using a Thomas Cook Balearic A320 for one of its flights from Germany to Madeira.
It's definitely something diferent around here, a Thomas Cook with spanish registration :)

Photo of the Week: Condor 767

As far as I can remember, last time we had a B767 here was las year, in July, with Thomson G-OBYG making a flight to return home some passengers of Black Watch cruise ship that caught fire while on it's way to Madeira (Check HERE) and the last time I got a Condor 767, I still was shooting with my Bigma (and it was some of its last shots....) check HERE

So, a Condor 767 was well worth a run to the airport, even if it was just a "touch and go" before returning to Funchal, on a busy day, even to get one with a regular livery...(Still waiting for a retro, Condor....)

Germans

Germany and Uk are the main markets for the Madeira tourism so, there are some days that the traffic si mainly from these countries...

Thurdays are one of those days with 6 Condor flights as well as Air Belin and Germania traffic...

Last Sep.29th 2016 was a day of small firsts...

After getting, for the first time, EI-STA with the new ASL livery (check HERE), and TAP's CS-TTU with the airline's 70th aniversary sticker (check HERE), got Condor's B753 D-ABOC with the Hannover Airport sticker, also for the first time...
Didn't manage to get the arrival so, a few pics of the departure....

Remembering the Saxony Condor

Back from August 2015, a pic I hadn't published of Condor's special livery D-AICC, landing on runway 23:

After a long time, Condor brought it's special livery B753 "Willi"...
When it arrived, complained about the crappy weather but actually, it turned out to be the best weather all day long...as meteo kept getting worst until almost no planes could land in the afternoon due to visibility and rain...
After lunch and until now, only the small BAe Jetstream that flies the Porto Santo - Madeira route and an Air Force helicopter EH-101 with a MEDEVAC, have landed....

Let's hope I can see it around here under more suitable weather... :)

Special Condor fom 23
