Air Nostrum: 3 in a row...

Yesterday we had, in less than half an hour 3 Air Nostrum's, including the premiere of one of their new CRJ-1000 in a new flight, from Madrid.
The other 2 were CRJ-900 in the already know routes of Valencia (VLC/LEVC) and Bilbao (BIO/LEBB)

With the oportunity of going to a couple of cockpits, the one from the CRJ-1000 deserved the choice for the Photo of the Week...

One wheel landing...

EC-JYV, the other CRJ-900

3 in a row...looks more of a spanish airport than Madeira....

Malev Express

When Malev went backrupt, shared some pics of their visits to Madeira (check HERE)

Today was checking some old pics and found another Malev pic I'd taken, back in 2005.
It was HA-LNB, a Canadair CL-600, from Malev Express, in Venice, with the beautifull Laguna, as background...

C-235 Salvamento Maritimo

Engine damage

EC-JXZ
Looks like despite everyone was mentioning a birdstrike on the Air Nostrum, that's not confirmed...
It was with some engine (one or two blades) damage but it's still to confirm what caused it....

The Nordic British Airways

The last time I saw British Airways around here was when GB was sold to Easyjet...
GB was the British Airways representation at Madeira and with that sell no more those colors were seen around.

It seemed like it would stay like that for many more years but after all, the BA blue and red colors came earlier than expected and being weared by a quite unexpected plane...

With a Danish registration, operated by Sun Air of Scandinavia and bringing the Swedish soccer team  BK Hacken with an overall coat of the BA colors,  it's definitely what I call a Nordic Brithish Airways...

The Dornier 328 (Do.328)  is not a usual plane here at all. We probably get one or (in a good year) two of those around here and usually Air Ambulances from ADAC, so you can understand all the rush around this traffic...

The Swedish team is coming to Madeira to play the first hand of an European Football (Soccer) competition with regional club C.D.Nacional

over runway 05 treshold with some nice reflections of the runway on the fuselage and engines...

OY-NCM

The time of the day hasn't the best sunlight but you got to work with what you have and try for the best....
Will probably be departing next Friday, around lunch time.

Still on the apron was the Air Nostrum CRJ-900 that suffered a birdstrike yesterday and had to be grounded for an engine repair.
Don't really know if it's already fixed or not but seemed like the damage wasn't that bad....

Birdstrike: Air Nostrum

Pois é...parece que houve mais um birdstrike, desta feita no CRJ-900 EC-JXZ da Air Nostrum que efectuava ontem o voo a partir de Valência (VLC / LEVC)

The Return of Air Nostrum

Yesterday we had yet another return: the spanish airline Air Nostrum, aka Iberia Regional... that made its first flight of the season from the spanish city of Bilbau.

The weather was a bit crappy, dull and cloudy for this return so, looks like this still wasn't the day I got one of "those" pics that makes me feel like the trip is really worth it... (it's been hard to get one of those, with Air Nostrum....)

EC-JTT over runway 05 treshold...

The Canadair CRJ-900 had a little touch of difference with the "Castilla Y León" titles

Today (saturday) we had another flight from Air Nostrum, this time from city of Valencia, Spain but I didn't go there.

The first Canadair

The Canadair allways felt like a special plane for several reasons...its design, the fact of beeing an amphibian, its  mission and finally the fact that I had never seen any here before....

The first time I had the oportunity to photograph one of these was last year, an old CL-215 at Museu del Air, in Madrid.
It was really nice but it was missing the vibrance and power of a living plane...

Lets of hope that changes next week when, hopefully, there will be an oportunity to shoot a "living one" around here... wheter its a CL-215 or a 415...
