Há já bastante tempo que não via o Piper do Aeroclube da Madeira a voar...no dia do C-130 da Royal Canadian Air Force (ver AQUI), andava a fazer um voos de treino que suponho estarem integrados num novo curso de PPA.
Fica um par de registos de uma das chegadas com falha de motor simulada....

Depois de muito tempo "encostado" num dos stands do Aeroporto da Madeira, sem esperanças de recuperação para voo, o TB-10 do Aeroclube da Madeira, CS-DCH, foi removido no passado sábado.
Foi a despedida de uma das aeronaves que, durante muito tempo, me habituei a ver esvoaçar por cá, proporcionando alguns clicks engraçados e um voo ou dois, na altura em que ainda não fotografava...

Os "Pikenos"

A aviação ligeira é pouco significativa por cá, resumindo-se normalmente aos habituais Piper do Aeroclube da Madeira e ao Jetstream inter-ilhas, da Aerovip mas, quando surge a oportunidade de obter uns registos diferentes, lá faço uns cliques
Por hoje ficam uns registos obtidos no passado dia 10 de Outubro....

Promovendo a Paixão

Ontem tivemos finalmente uma pintura especial por estas bandas mas, como já tinha decidido dedicar a foto da semana a este tema...fica o AB a aguardar mais um pouco (afinal nós também esperámos muito por aquilo e os outros spotters já publicaram umas quantas fotos)

Há um par de publicações atrás falei na paixão pela aviação, pelo que a foto da semana dá destaque ao CS-AIC, o Piper 180 do Aeroclube da Madeira, onde alguns pilotos comerciais têm dado os primeiros passos e outros têm aprendido a voar apenas pelo puro prazer pessoal e como forma de dedicar-se à paixão da aviação...

Aerovip's Do-228

For the time beeing, Aerovip's Dornier 228 CS-AYT is still carrying the Porto Santo-Madeira-Porto Santo flights.
Like I said many times, it's one plane that I really like so, it's allways nice to make some pics of it, specially if taken from diferent spots than usual...

O Piper do Aeroclube

Para variar um pouco dos aviões maiores, por hoje fica um par de fotos da chegada do Piper Cherokee 180 do Aeroclube da Madeira (CS-AIC).
É já um habitual destas bandas mas, tendo em conta que este tipo de aviação é rara por cá e o piloto é conhecido, merece sempre umas fotos...

Chegada do Porto Santo (LPPS/PXO), com uma luta na final, devido ao vento, que estava forte mas, felizmente enfiado com a pista.

E porque os pequenotes também são aviões, a foto desta semana vai dedicada aos aviões do Aeroclube da Madeira.
Num aeroporto como o nosso em que além destes "inquilinos da casa" practicamente não temos grande variedade (ou quantidade) deste tipo de aviação, não deixa de ser interessante uma vista mais próxima aos mesmos...

Nova foto da semana: Smoke on...

Apesar de haver um par de ângulos diferentes que tenho andado para experimentar nas fotos ao A330, ontem acabei por optar pelo sítio mais habitual, visto estar previsto um privado, com ETA para a mesma altura que o 330....

É este tipo de imagem que me faz preferir a foto ao vídeo..
Smoke on...num dos trens, com o outro trem a centímetros do chão...
Ainda mais interessante, por se tratar do trem de várias rodas do 330....

A razão que me levou àquele spot...acabou por mais de uma hora depois do previsto...

The Piper

Last Friday, while waiting for the CL-900, from Air Nostrum, took the time for some shots on the Piper CS-AIC, from Aeroclube da Madeira that was departing to a local flight to Funchal bay.

The most interesting shot, despite it's not a sharp quality pic, was this one....

The first A318 at Madeira

Sometimes, a spotter life is not an easy one... ;))
This A318 was a much expected plane as it's the first A318 at Madeira and it got me 2 days to get it....

First schedulled to arrive from Faro (LPFR) at 5pm of last wednesday the F#$%"... plane got delayed and only arrived here 4 or 5 hours later, when it was night already...so no pics of the arrival for anyone...

Not knowing when it's shedulled to depart, decided to go to the airport for some shots before it went away.
Still planes are not my kind of favortie photos but in this case, definitely better a still pic than no pic at all...

Despit the sunny and hot day at Funchal, the weather at Santa Cruz was the frontier into another completely diferent weather....a nice late afternoon sun at Santa Cruz (and runway 05) and a dark rainy sky to the eastern part of the island (and runway 23)

The wind blowing at the airport was noticeable in the tail rudder...

The strong winds were also noticeable in the small planes area with the local Aeroclub planes (CS-AIC and CS-DCH) turned head into the wind direction, as well as the Sata Q200 CS-TRC that makes the Madeira-Porto Santo route

Let's see if I manage to get the departure....

Anyway, regarding winds, looks like it was a hard day for Condor pilots at Madeira...

Last Sunday of February

It's been a long time since I last caught TAP A330.
Last sunday of February made a quick stop at the airport just when the TP131 when about to leave to Caracas.

Not much traffic at that time, so, made a couple of quick shots at the apron....

A Piper 180 and a Tobago TB-10 which got (at least for the summer) some new "colors" due to publicity stickers....

Domestic flights Premiere

Last March, 28th Transavia France made its premiere on domestic flights to Madeira.

It started the (Paris) Porto - Madeira - Porto (Paris) route.

A local newspaper stated that the first flight would be received by the Fire Dept. water canons so I decided to go to the area behind the apron...there would be plenty of days to photograph regular landings but a water canon "bath" is allways something special....

I got late and when I arrived at the area behind the apron, noticed that there wasn't going on any kind of movements from the Fire Dept. and realised that there wasn't gona be any "bath"...

Though of going for the landing but by then, the plane was already coming into final...no time for the landing...stayed there just for the record...planes slowly taxiing aren't really my favorites....
Landed on 23....

Lots of people on the balcony but at that time, TAP's A330 was preparing to depart to Caracas, which also brings a lot of people to the airport, for the last good-byes, so can't really tell if the Transavia brought many people to the airport...

Meanwhile, the Aeroclub's Piper was departing for a local flight...

(Looks like that door isn't fitting completly right....)

Old Sata's ATP was still waiting for the tail rudder....

Decided to wait for the departure of the A330 to Caracas but Transavia got ready first and departed back to Porto with an early take-off from runway 23....

And finnally, TAP departed to Caracas....

A couple of Night Shots

Last Sunday (30 May, 2009) made a quick night stop at the Airport to "get" a Spanish Cessna 404.
Had already got this plane last October but it was the first night shot of it.


Was about to leave when I noticed that local Aeroclube's Piper was at its usual parking with a clear view from the Terminal balcony...quite a sad sight...

Why a sad sight? Well, those familiar with LPMA parkings know that usually this used to be behind CS-DIR, the plane that crashed at the airport, the other weekend.

So...a visible emptyness....
