2014: Best of...

2015 is on! Happy New Year everyone!
For the first entry of the year, here's a compilation of last year's Highlights!

The first highlight of 2014 was the TC & Starquest Expeditions flight, operated by Thomson Airways B752 G-OOBF, with TCS Expeditions titles. Check HERE

In February Jet2 G-GDFC suffered a tail strike while landing at runway 05 and had to be repaired here before proceeding to maintenance. Check HERE

Also in February, made my first and only photo of a Bingo Airways (ceased operations in June...)

And still in February I made one of my favorite shots ever...TAP's A330 CS-TON taking off from runway 23 to Caracas. Check HERE

In March, Sata closed its base at Madeira. It keeps flying from the Azores and to the Canary island but no base anymore (nor A320 based here...) Check HERE

Volotea was one of the new airlines we had in 2014 (and a very nice one. The B717 is a nice change from all the Airbus and Boeing 737 that usually come to Madeira). Check HERE

Small ones also deserve some highlight, with this French Air Force Embraer EMB-121AA Xingu, reg.068/YI (F-TEYI)  that visited us in February... Check HERE

In April, the highlight was a couple of flights made by a couple of Air Berlin's A330. It's been quite a while since Air Berlin brought its A330's to Madeira...Check HERE

May hosted the year's highlight, no doubt, with the arrival of a USAF C-17A Globemaster III that came to perform the Medevac of a US high rank military that was in vacations... Check HERE

May was also the month of my first pic of Condor's A321 with sharklets at new livery. Check HERE

In June, we had the first flight from LOT (Operated by a Canjet B738). Check HERE

In July made on of my favorite pics of the year at the night arrival of Transaero's B738 EI-EEA from Moscow...Check HERE

In August, one of the highlights: Belavia's B735 EW-250PA that brought a team from its homeland to play with CD Nacional for the UEFA soccer competitions. (Check HERE)

Also in August had the oportunity to make some photos at London Heathrow. Wasn't there for the spotting but even with a small lens like the 17-50 who can resist on making from shots of the amazing traffic on that airport... Check HERE

Also in the summer, made my first flight on the Fokker 100 (Here)

Porto Santo gave me also the oportunity to photograph an A310 after a few years....Check HERE

In November, Swiftair returned to the daily cargo flights on the Lisbon-Madeira-Lisbon route.
It was also the first time we had an ATR-42 on that route. (Check HERE)

In December Finnair brought us some Christmas spirit with Santa Claus livery (Check HERE)

My last highlight of the year goes to Privilege with the premiere of its ERJ-145 EC-KSS, making a charter flight for Madeira's Reveillon. Check HERE

Also in December, DAT (Danish Air  Transport) started flying to Madeira, but still haven't photographed any....
