Yesterday was celebrated the 90th Aniversary of the first aerial crossing of the South Atlantic.
The achievement was made by two Portuguese airmen in 1922: Sacadura Cabral and Gago Coutinho.

A scale replica of the Fairy IIID used by the Portuguese flyers The the first sucessfull flight between the mainland and Madeira was also made by these two airmen, the previous year (1921) as a test of the navigation technics developed by Gago Coutinho. |
